Some OL chatter

Anderson has been a jag. yes, potential, but to date unfulfilled. that said, he should be able to build into a serviceable T thru the season.
I see no reason Brown will change his ways. it is no longer 2018, when he parlayed a very good half season into a nice contract. if and when motivated, he is a good enough T.
Onwenu should only improve with a new contract hanging in the balance.
I assume D Andrews will be his usual solid self.
Strange was average last season. he is fighting a knee injury. Mafi or Sow might be a better option.

the group should build to an acceptable OL. if and when they do, will the team be in contention or already out of the playoffs?

Anderson does not look serviceable to me. 2 great defenses this week and next. Sow is not ready so let's hope Lowe can play RT, but switching is not always easy.

Who’s going to be RT? Wheatley? Calvin Anderson? Will Onwenu play the whole game? Probably not. Mafi at RG is a decided advantage for the Jetes.

Jets are going to need to exploit every opening they get with their mistake-prone QB.

Adrian Klemm is earning a lot of money to get his unit working effectively without self-inflicted errors. It’s been unacceptable so far this season.

We just threw two million dollars more in incentives at Lazy TB. Why? That help fix his “concussion “?

Vederian Lowe played Right Tackle the entire game, as far as I know... Mafi replaced Strange69 sometime during the 2nd half; don't know why, but when he did the OL got a whole lot bigger with Brown & Mafi on the left and Onwenu & Lowe on the right... That's 3/4 of a Ton of Fun right thar.

Believe strange was injury related.

Someone posted that the blocking improved with Strange out. That wasn't my sense. It seemed the pass blocking declined.

I’m sold on VLowe. I highly recommend the video.

I bet Belichick heard good things about him from the Illinois staff, led by Bret Bielema. Guy did great tat RT vs the Jets. A huge improvement from CA’s crap show the previous week.

Mac should be able to hide behind those walls a lot of Beef.

I wonder if Strange will still be dinged up. Seems to be having a sophomore slump.

I still feel that we need a bit more of that beef on the defensive line too, Sunday's game notwithstanding.

Bedard was calling for the benching of Strange today. Sounds like Bedard, and several others, aren't too far from putting Strange in the bust category. Honestly, what has Strange done to warrant a first round selection?

Mafi played well alongside Trent Brown...Seems like he gets it Strange won't be missed.

He’s hurt and trying to play through it. They should put him on the IR if he needs time. They have depth with Mafi, Sow and Russey. Do it now and get him healthy.

Bedard? Is he an offensive line assistant?

I rewatched the game, and agree Brown played very well.
I also agree Strange, and then Mafi both struggled. Q Williams is a tough match up for anyone. I also question if Strange is playing at 100% health.
Lowe got the nod, but he struggled with speed to his outside foot, and allowed numerous pressures. he certainly appears to have the size and strength. perhaps he rounds into a viable RT. Andrews and Onwenu appeared to play a clean game. nice game to build on.

Nothing whatsoever. But I wouldn't call him a bust either; just closer to the 85th pick (which is where I had been mocking him - to us - before the draft) than to the 29th pick... His production/experience, even while taking his athleticism into account, warranted his being chosen no earlier than that. Heck, Thuney was taken 78th, and that was after he started his RS Senior season at Left TACKLE in Division 1...

I'd still rather have a healthy Strange69 at LG than a less-experienced & still-working-into-shape Tony Mafi... for now.

Yeah I also thought that Lowe too often allowed his defender to collapse his corner of the pocket; and while Mac wasn't officially sacked, he certainly had some throws that were obviously rushed because of the pressure.
