Everyone has been saying that. The only guy who didn’t seem to recognize it was Bill.

If your OL is bad your offense will be bad.
Two years in a row Bills decisions have crippled what could have been a good team. Not gonna call them legit contenders but nowhere near as bad as they are now.

Resign Damian Harris, don’t waste money on Zeke. Use Zeke money toward Hopkins. Take concrete steps to address OL.

Bonus: Pay Meyers instead of JuJu. Do all that and we are likely a playoff team contending for the division.

its frustrating because this is the pivotal window where you can squeeze out some contender seasons on a rookie QB contract, with tons of star youth on rookie deals and an elite defense

hopefully they can pull one out against the Jets, and hopefully we get some of our key starters back from all these concussions, etc

our luck in the health department has been brutal.. hard to think of a time its been worse to start the season

Anyone know the timetable for Sow’s return?

I expect Strange to bounce back after his subpar performance. Heck, this was true even of David Andrews.

Have they gotten it out of their system? Anderson was bad. Bad.

So was Lowe. I was more disappointed in seeing how sloppy his technique was during too many snaps than I was disappointed in seeing him being beaten around the edge.. If Brown is unable to answer the bell vs the Jete, would Bill/Obie/YoAdrian consider switching Mister Anderson to his more natural Left Tackle position in order to give his QB the best protection possible?

Only Mafi and Strange got passing grades from PFF:

Given Mafi seems to be holding his own, I wonder if we eventually end up with Onwenu back at RG. But he's looking heavier, so maybe not yet.

This offensive line needs to get healthy and if it takes too long it will be too late.

Onwenu will probably take weeks before he’s back to his old self. Once everyone is back the only spot I’m worried about is right tackle.

This team doesn’t have the skill position talent to have anything worse than an average line. I do think this offensive line has the potential to be too 10 if everyone is healthy and the RT spot is figured out.

It appeared as if the OL played better with 2 rookies at G last week than this week. Cole Strange is trending toward another first round mistake.
Didn’t Strange have a nice start to his rookie season? Not sure what happened there.

Also, are Andrews and O just banged up, or not good anymore?

The Pats drafted J Andrews early so I assume they already see D Andrews slipping. Onwenu is banged up but the Pats drafted Strange, Hines, and Mafi in the last 2 years, so the Pats are not sold on Onwenu or are not planning on keeping Onwenu in FA. Strange was not that bad, posters are exaggerating. I assume Mafi will be starting in W3 while Onwenu heals more. Brown at LT and I think they need to do something at RT. Maybe try Sow?

I didn't think Strange69 was even that good. Still think that last play was on him too.

I wasn't a fan of doing this at the start of the free-agency period, but in retrospect I now wonder if both Bill & I were in error for not pursuing Orlando Brown to be our Left Tackle while moving Trent Brown to RT...

Yes it was - guy squeezed through gap between Andrews and Strange.

There were some videos posted on Twitter showing a repeated twist by Miami - DT comes off the guard quickly and attacks Andrews from the side while he is engaged with the center, blowing him up. The lack of reps showed.

Someone get a still shot of Onwenu. Guy fell into college habits and his weight has obviously ballooned. At Michigan reports were he had difficulty controlling his weight. He was a three-year starter who performed at a high level.

Guess what? He looked about 370 in his first game back after his offseason ankle surgery—same weight he is thought to have eaten himself to in college.

He let the team down. It’s going to take a good month before he is in proper shape. He has my problem: food addiction.

Look to see plenty more of greenhorn Mafi. Or Sow when he’s back.

Mafi gets beaten a lot for a Big Guy on the Inside he needs to use that Big Body like wall and not a turnstile.

I watched Onwenu. He looked great. He was mauling people. Not sure why they gave snaps to Mafi in his place.

As for Orlando Brown, the fans of the teams who signed him to huge contracts are not as positive about him as this board:

I just explained why.
Why? He's performing well. If he were so out of shape and it was a problem, he wouldn't be performing well. You're gassed, you get beat, you get pulled. That makes sense. Getting pulled for someone who isn't ready to perform as well as you when you're gassed doesn't make any sense.

We're expecting too much of Mafi anyway. So0me players, like Shaq Mason, can't flip sides anyway, so it's no absolute that Mafi can bounce back and forth anyway

Onwenu did not play well. Yeah, I’m sure the first few run blocks he made guys cry for their momma. But he quickly got winded and, according to PFF, received a failing grade at pass blocking.

Again, this was already posted in the thread, by SlowGettingUp.

Calvin Anderson: 33.5 (146/161)
Mike Onwneu: 48.6 (127/161)
David Andrews: 48.9 (125/161)
Vederian Lowe: 49.1 (124/161)

But your explanation is wrong. Reports said the change was planned, so Onwenu was on a pitch count because it was his first game back.
Same with Strange. Did he have a pitch count? No. He was in shape everywhere except his head.

Staff knew Onwenu was and likely still is no where near decent shape.
