Didn't need a 538 article to figure that one out, but it's a good read.

You know I've been thinking about kickoffs after the Ravens game.

On the one hand you have a Tom Brady and a potent offense who could potentially score from any starting point on the field and on the other hand a tight game could be decided by a special teams play.

So from a Patriots perspective is it worth not fair catching or allowing the ball roll into the endzone and accepting the risk that sometimes Brady would start from within the ten every now and then or is it worth giving Brady the best starting position possible enhancing his chance to score?

It might be a logical answer but after last Sunday I don't know.

I don't know how you quantify losing 5 yards of field position from -25 to -20 vs the opportunity to get to -40 50 or +20 or a td.
I don't think statistics can capture that.
