So, When week 8 rolls around does Moss get cheered or booed

He should be treated better than McNabb was upon his return to Philly. Hopefully our fans have as much class as Philly fans. Moss deserves a standing ovation-- he was a great player for us.

I wont be at the game but what do you think the reaction will be? I personally hope the crowd cheers him, i know it was only 4 years but he was nothing but an upstanding citizen while here and a true leader.

Why would anyone boo him? He was a pleasure to watch for four years.

I'd like to be there to personally shank anyone who booed.

Huge cheer from me.

Good things go bad sometimes.

Why don't you cheer for the things you KNOW he did (e.g. big part of the most dominant offense in the history of the NFL) rather than decide not to cheer based on the things the media tells you he did or said.

Because he freakin' agitated his way out of town!!! I don't need the media to tell me that. As I stated in another thread, I place the onus squarely on Moss for precipitating the trade. Moss is a "me first" guy first and foremost, who becomes a team guy secondarily when the money, limelight, catches and victories align to suit him. Don't get me wrong, I loved what he brought to the field here and cheered him plenty for that. I even bought a Moss T-shirt once. But it's hard to forgive his selfishness leading to his "ouster," which is why I will neither boo nor cheer his introduction.

Ok so how do you -know- he "agitated" his way out of town. BB has flat out said nothing to make you think that.

Cheered, with emotion and gusto.......before the game starts.

BB has never flat out said anything in his football life. You can't seriously think that Randy went up to BB after the first game and said, all friendly-like, "Hey Bill, I'd like to go play with Brett Favre now that it seems you guys have other plans for next year..." and BB answered cheerfully, "Okay, Randy, let me see what I can do."

As I and a few others have repeated over the last two days in numerous threads, there is no way the Pats and BB do THIS deal at THIS time, and seriously imperil their season, unless Randy Moss became intolerable behind the scenes. BB decided that gambling he and Brady could put it together for the rest of the season without Moss (and with the young D he has that has had trouble stopping anybody to this point) was BETTER than letting Moss play out the remainder of his contract. The third round pick was a "get whatever we can" pick up, as evidenced by the fact that we had to throw in another pick to even get it done!

I'm with Tune on this. I won't boo (unless he scores, and then I will boo big time), but I sure as heck won't cheer.

I will be up there for the game! First one at the Razor (had season tics in Sullivan years ago)

I will give clap for him when introed, will boo when he makes a play against the Pats (just like any other vike that makes a play).

Cheered loudly.

BB always keeps that stuff private. But you needn't look past his week one press conference and the things he said before and after that fiasco to understand why he's gone. I also believe that the accounts of Troy Brown, Tedy Bruschi and Ron Burton shed further light on Moss becoming a malcontent to the detriment of the team.

He deserves to be cheered pregame. Anything else is disgusting.

If Philly can cheer McNabb and Boston doesn't cheer Randy Moss, I will be embarassed to be a Patriots fan for the first time in my life.

So a press conference in week 1 makes you forget all the great plays he's had for us 3 years? Fans like you really are something else, miserable and self righteous.

If the guy who set the TD record with us and wanted to stay gets booed, then our fans are stupid. Anything short of a standing ovation isn't good enough, which sucks because I'm willing to bet he won't get one.

Save the booing for after he lights up our secondary.

This is a GAME of entertainment for US. For HIM it's his JOB. If he felt he needed to go elsewhere to earn his living, so be it. He gave us 3 outstanding years and was good to the fans. If he treated the ownership or coaches bad, fine, that's their issue. I am a fan, he entertained me greatly and he deserves to be recognized for that. If he does something crazy after scoring on us or something, sure, he loses that status, but until then he deserves a cheer.

He flat out said he never had any issues with Moss over 4 years and that he never talked to Moss on the plane.

Well your base assumption is wrong. He has no seriously imperil'd the season. This season depends on ball control and defensive growth. If the team grows enough to compete in the playoffs, they will be fine with the current offense. Moss wasn't going to help the defense grow, and the quick strike abilities were less important when the defense needs coaching and the offense needs to eat up clock.

BB decided that gambling he and Brady could put it together for the rest of the season without Moss (and with the young D he has that has had trouble stopping anybody to this point) was BETTER than letting Moss play out the remainder of his contract. You severely underestimate the 3rd round pick. It is definitely not a "get whatever you can". Why didn't they just taken a 4th if that were the case. I believe BB when he says it was a difficult decision.

This thread has NOTHING TO DO with what you will do DURING the game. I would hope you never cheer for any opponent during the game

You're a total dweeb for saying such a stupid thing. I cheered more than anyone for Moss and even bought a Moss T-shirt when he first got here. I loved the guy for what he did on the field and backed him 110 percent. But it's damn hard to forgive him for the childish way he ended his tenure here, letting down all Patriots fans including YOU. I'm not going to cheer him when he takes the field as an adversary but I'm not going to boo him either because I respect how he performed in a Pats uniform. If you think that's being "miserable and self righteous," you're an ignoramus.

Maybe I'm a dweeb for saying that, my apologies.

That still doesn't let you off the hook for throwing out 3 great and entertaining years for what you PERCEIVE to be a "childish" act of forcing a trade. Past and present teammates to this day have nothing but good things to say about Moss, yet the media continues to convince people he's a terrible psycopath.

While I think the trade is the right thing to do, I'd cheer for this guy. He was thrilling to watch and he came within the stupidest, velcro catch I've ever seen of having a Superbowl winning catch and a perfect season for the Pats. He'll be great for the Vikings, at least in year one.
