So, When week 8 rolls around does Moss get cheered or booed

So a press conference in week 1 makes you forget all the great plays he's had for us 3 years? Fans like you really are something else, miserable and self righteous.

I can vouch for the fact that Tune is neither miserable nor self-righteous. He simply answered the question posted by the OP and gave his reasons therefor.

Maybe I'm a dweeb for saying that, my apologies.

That still doesn't let you off the hook for throwing out 3 great and entertaining years for what you PERCEIVE to be a "childish" act of forcing a trade. Past and present teammates to this day have nothing but good things to say about Moss, yet the media continues to convince people he's a terrible psycopath.

I'm certainly NOT "throwing out" what Moss accomplished here. Like I said, I was a big fan of his while he was here and loved what he did. Nor do I think he's a psychopath. But for heaven sakes, the guy was under contract ($9 million this year) and grandstanded like a fool about an extension and "feeling appreciated" before, during and after the Cincy game press conference meltdown. His "me before team" attitude became increasingly (painfully) apparent. As a season ticket holder who theoretically helps pay his salary, I feel let down by that. But no, it does not diminish what he accomplished here, which I steadfastly supported from the start.

But he never stopped playing hard, which is what you are theoretically helping to pay him do right? I don't agree with his antics (cincy game, headphone issue etc...) but they aren't so egregious as to wipe away 3 years of greatness and entertainment. His "me before the team" attitude is more media driven than reality. He just went into a Monday night game playing 70% of the snaps running full speed for a gameplan that he already knew was to NOT feature him much. He dove into a pile to fight for a fumble a couple weeks ago. His ACTIONS speak well, his WORDS are inexplicably odd.

Moss will get a Donovan McNabb type of reaction IMO

However if he scores a TD and does his pull the pants down and moon routine you will hear some pissed off fans

I'll lose a lot of respect for the New England fanbase if the boo him.

Cheer him before the game. Boo him if he scores a go ahead TD.

The real question is, who's going to cover him?

I might be a little salty if he does the "Splitting Defenses" thing, but that's about it.

I wont be at the game but what do you think the reaction will be? I personally hope the crowd cheers him, i know it was only 4 years but he was nothing but an upstanding citizen while here and a true leader.

If our fans have any sense they will be cheering him for everything he did for our team. If they boo him, that would be pretty pathetic. He should get the same kind of welcome McNabb had in Philly.

Personally, I'll cheer for Moss when he's announced. After that, my focus will be on how good or bad the Pats are playing. No sense wasting energy booing him.

there is no reason not to cheer for him during introductions...once the game starts he is the enemy.

What i dont understand is why everyone has to pick sides. He played well when he was here and then at the end of his contract the organization got something for him. Why do we feel the need to hate him. We need to stick to the plan that the organization has set out. no player is ever bigger than the organization. It has been the staple of this franchise since Kraft took over. Why are we always surpirsed and outraged when we get rid of a player? Dont get it

OK I tend to be a hardass and a homer (Vinitrator, the perfidious Twig) but were I at that game (I'm away then) I would give him a standing O. Moss wanted to stay here. Totally lacking social skills his fragile psyche caused him to behave in ways that set in motion events that moved quicker than he imagined and in a different direction that got him ejected from the team. He wanted to end his career here and was desperate for a new (big) contract that the Pats were not going to give him with the uncertainties of 2011 and his age/skills.

I really like Moss but in marked contrast I do not like the style of offense that his presence here had us following. I'm happy to return to the 'bue collar, lunch pail' team we were in 2001 and early in the decade. I'd cheer his entry and then yell like Hell when the stinkin' Vikes had the ball on offense hoping he drops every pass and Lord Favre fills the sky with a veritable blizzard of picks.

Sic Transit Gloria Moss!

I'll be cheering as I'm sure the rest of the fans will be. Here's a guy who played a monster role in this team going unbeaten*, he has consistently been a favorite of the fans at Gillette and as far as we know would have continued to contribute had he stayed with the team. At some point he'll be announced or appear on the beautiful new video screens and the crowd will cheer him in gratitude for what he did in his time here. Once the game starts he'll be the visiting team's receiver and will get the same treatment every other visitor gets.
*yeah, I know/

Guy pouted his way off the team.

He'll get what he deserved.

Should we really support this guy after the way he left?

Complaining about a contract after our season-opening WIN.

He's a mercenary, a hired gun. He got paid for his efforts and then forced Beli's hand when he wasn't getting more money.

I'll be there booing as loud as I can.

Can we ban for the use of an asterik?

I'm going to laugh when he puts up 5 touchdowns against our defense. He'll get what he deserved right? I really hope you don't make it to the game on suunday, for everybody's sake.

Randy has been a pivotal role in this offense since 2007, there is NO reason he should not be cheered when he comes back to town!

please become a Vikings fan, you arnt wanted here.
Hold on, we have a problem with logic here?

Do you really think McCourty can handle Moss alone?

I say he gets boo'd, because most of the fanbase are assclowns.

read the post again, sound out the big words.

if you are gonna "laugh" when the opponent score 5 td's, then you are rooting for the wrong team.

You can laugh at it and not be routing for the Vikings.

Some of us enjoy watching elite talent.
