So Michael Sam Is Gay, Who Cares? Can He Rush The QB?

I don't think I have seen one thing answered by the 'it's unnatural' pundits:

If 'natural' is being defined as involving sex acts for procreation, does that mean any sex act not for procreation is 'unnatural'?

It has been asked a dozen times and not answered. Don't hold your breath.

anything that occurs in this 4 dimensional reality is "natural". That is the nature of this limited reality.

We are all infinite particles of mind. The mind exists in this reality bounded by four dimensions. Perception is limited to the parameters of this reality. Black-White, Good-Evil, Positve-Negative, Male-Female. Within this bounded constraint there is any number of permutations, colors, degrees. Yet this PALES in comparison to the truth of our being. Mind is not bound by limits. When you dream, do you not instantaneously travel anywhere ,to any thing, to any heaven, to any nightmare,to any pleasure or any pain?

I'm not intelligent enough to post on metaphysics. I have spent much of my life pondering existence and read others ideas on this ultimately supreme subject. I see life as some sort of school. You live, you acquire experience, your experience changes your mind's constant perception in the waking state...but all along,we all separate from this conscious state into the sleep state where our minds are truly unbounded.

We know this to be exactly because of our constant struggle to understand our existence. We now know there are far more dimensions to existence than these mere four here. String theory and quantum physics have expanded our ability to perceive beyond this reality, using our MIND, and what is evident is that there is infinitely more to being than existence withing the constraints of a black-white,positive negative, good-evil, 4 dimensional construct.

I believe it all comes down to one nearly absolute simplicity in the end, when we struggle with our perceptions and biases ...LIVE AND LET LIVE.

Sam is certain to go in the draft, in my opinion; he will be the focus of the draft, training camp, preseason, and the first few weeks of the regular season. Just in case one of our players intends to spend the offseason murdering his friends we should probably draft him.

Anyway, all joking aside, like the article says who cares, it is 2014, and there are other gay and bisexual men in the NFL. The fact is Sam played well enough to win the SEC DPOY and he was out to his teammates so if a locker room of college kids not being paid can handle it than an NFL team damn well better be able to do the same otherwise they will be the biggest embarrassment in the country.

I hope we get him in the 6th round, he reminds me of Dumervil.

You have to be kidding me. Its cool to be gay?
9 out of 10 gay teenagers say they are verbally or physically bullied because they are gay.
Ignorant parents are disowning their children because they are gay.
Violence is committed every day on gay people because they are gay.
People like you tell them they have psychological problems.
Until a few days ago no NFL player was comfortable enough with the way they would be treated by players, front offices and society to not hide thier homosexuality. Yeah its so cool.

You seem to be mistaking the fact that some people are now treating gay people like people with it being 'cool'.

Very cool. Sounds like they're having an awesome time.

Just kidding/punning . That was deep, and well written :agree:

It's sad that this is still a big issue really...that this is actually news and that it has been droning on for ages now and willl continue to do so in the draft process.

There's an argument to be had that this might encourage more people to jump on the bandwagon and come out...but there's also an argument to be had that some people don't WANT the attention. They want to get it out there but are then swamped by media and fans alike. This might deter some.

It is a perfectly NORMAL thing. I don't care for who players are married to or sleeping with. I really don't give two hoots about Gisele Bundchen like some fans tend to. Player's personal lives are of no interest to me unless it really starts to hinder their on-field production.

As I said...it's incredibly sad that as a globe, we find this to be big news.

You evidently didn't see Belichick handle the Tebow and Hernandez media situations. Let me describe for you those media situations: after the initial day, there were no media situations. In the event Sam becomes a Patriot, Bill Belichick won't "answer Sam questions the whole 2014 season.". Hell, he won't answer Sam questions beyond the first one asked of him. How anyone could possibly think otherwise is beyond me. No one (emphasis added) in the media determines what Bill does or doesn't answer. Bill does, and that's why those of us who dislike the media think Bill's great and it's also why the media dislikes Bill. Case closed, end of story.

Again

The Tebow thing was different because everyone knew who the staring QB was. The only chance that Tebow had was as a backup. Tebow was fighting for Mallets job. In NE, Tebow wasnt given the podium for press conferences like NY and Denver. Tebow working with the 3rd string wasnt earth shattering news.

Hernandez was in prison all 2013 with no way out. Bail denied. Banished from Gillette. BB stated that he was moving on. Any and all Hernandez news was in the media day in and day out. There was nothing for BB or the Pats to add.The only thing pending was the Hernandez contract and whether or not NE can recoup money.

Sam is totally different whether you like it or not. NFL locker rooms are 99.9% hetro males. Some players are deeply religious and homosexuality is a sin in their faith and in the Bible. That is their religious freedom and right not to accept gay lifestyle. Certainly there have been other gay players before, but this time its wide open.

Yes, and those players are stupid and should be told as much until they pull their heads out of their asses.

Nobody here is suggesting that people don't have the right to hate gays or their lifestyle. You can hate and be an ignorant bigot. That's your right. I can call you out on your ignorance. That's my right.

Um, there are players in the locker room doing all kinds of sinful things and it is accepted by these religious players....

Fornication, adultery, divorce, not honoring their mother and father, and so on. Oh, and how about the following:

“Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair, it is degrading to him, but if a woman has long hair, it is her glory?” (1 Corinthians 11:14-15).

Any NFL players with long hair?

Religious people should just shut the **** up about homosexuality.

So you think there are about 1 1/2 gay players in the NFL. Pretty obtuse view.

I'm not sure if you are saying Sam will face prejudice or if you are saying it is their right to not allow a gay player on the team. The latter would be mighty ignorant of you.

The religious folks should be concerned with the adults that are attracted to little children, grown men being attracted to each other is not an issue in this country.

In addition even if you believe you're not born gay and choose to be, why does that matter? Why should they be forced to live a way that they don't enjoy?

It's unfortunate, but it's part of the process. A certain segment of people have to go ape**** the first few times an openly gay player comes into the league. Eventually they'll wear themselves out, shut up, and stuff like this will become a non-story.

The Elite 51: Performance Technology the Driver Behind New NFL Uniforms | TIME.com

We’ve long known that elite athletes aren’t simply tossing on cotton T-shirts for competition, but most of us never considered that an NFL uniform with nine different materials woven together would make up the latest offering

Uh oh. So the very act of wearing an NFL uniform is a pretty major problem, isn't it? Hopefully this ultra-religious contingent of players that you keep referencing can come to terms with the fact that their uniforms are made of pure sin.

Of the 667 sins listed in the bible, just to list a few:

Adultery
Arrogance
Vain Babbling
Boasting
Being Carnal
Lying
Accepting Bribes
Fornicating
Gluttony
Greed
Breaking up a home
Complaining
Dressing indecently
Devising wicked plots (playaction, misdirection, double reversals)
Vanity
Wearing long hair
Wearing fabric with more than two materials woven in
Working on the Sabbath
Fumbling

Seems to me the average NFL player commits far more sins than the average gay person.

so...no law against being a moron?

I knew it!!...haha! I'm safe, suckers...
