It reminds me of one of the parodies of the full metal jacket drill sgt., I think on SNL, but I don't remember... He had reallllly unimaginative nicknames, along the lines of "You like telling jokes, I guess I'll call you Joker." I wish I remembered them, but they were so banal they didn't even read as insults... or really register at all... like "Oh you're from Texas? I guess we'll call you the guy from Texas" or something.
