When you've picked near the top as often as the Rams have with so little to show for it, I imagine the allure of that top pick has to dim a bit.

You'd think but what are their alternatives? Stick with Shaun Hill at QB? Bring in someone else via FA or trade? I think either way, they're not winning many games, though they could win some games with their defense alone. Here's their schedule:

Quite frankly, Shaun Hill is a better QB than Bradford anyways. I think he's underappreciated by posters here for whatever reason, probably because he's spent his entire career in the NFC.

Anything less is almost not even worth it. Anything more is asking too much for Mallet.

You keep valuing it from the acquirer's perspective. Schlecter reported on the traders perspective. BB senses this could be a Lombardi year; and isn't willing to jeopardize it if Brady gets dinged for a couple of games.

PS:: except for a totally excessive price, IF Garoppolo is looking much more advanced then a DII rookie QB can expect to be, in his rookie year. Even Brady, GOAT, wasn't ready as a rookie, and he prepped at Big Time Michigan..
