The Jets went all in with a 39 year old QB, and it has backfired spectacularly! First there was the 4 play season of 2023 and now firing Saleh 5 games into 2024. Rodgers looks like he is feeling every one of his 40 years now. Not sure what they think firing Saleh will do for them.

It's like you put on the JETE uniform and you are instantly transformed into a loser!

They needed a scapegoat.

Most Jets fans realized that if the Rodgers plan didn't work, they were basically going to start over. This was a quick fix to attempt to get someone in there who could change the offense before they have to pull the plug

Salah's been on the Jets for 3 years and change. Every year was a losing season. And a big part of this was that he was never one of Woody's guys because he was hired by Chris when Woody was playing ambassador. Apparently Woody got embarrassed that his friends from that time in London watched his team get humiliated and got rid of the coach (not unlike how Kraft was very embarrassed by the London game last year and it was the start of the end for Bill).

Mayo is a Kraft guy and the expectations based on last year aren't high and they aren't betting it all on Rodgers and are actively sitting their planned QB of the future.

All fair points but I’d point to this: you could tell Saleh wasn’t the guy 5 games in.

Sometimes you trust your eyes.

NO ONE, including me, expected a winning season this year and grace was aplenty.

BUT…

I don’t think we can ignore just how unprofessional the team has looked, undisciplined, and just generally not showing any progress in even basics.

Add to that Mayo seems to have NO feel for game management and I think it’s fair to wonder aloud “did we F up?”

This is a bad move from the Jets.

It is quintessential Jete. This is why they are so bad.

Why is it a bad move. Saleh is in year 4 and showing he can’t win.

I don't know how Saleh can be responsible for all of Rodgers' INTs. Some of them are worse than anything Mac threw last year. All three of his INTs vs. the Vikes were on him and bad throws.

You could say that about last year. People are forgetting how much of a disorganized mess the team was.
