Schefter: Pats sign Brandon Lloyd

In 2010, he had six pass plays caught over 40 yards and 4 were for TDs. He also had six TD plays of over 40 yards in that season. That is far more of a playmaker than you give him credit for. He's not Calvin Johnson, but he can be a playmaker.

If he can draw a safety when Wrecks trots out his "amoeba!" defense, then the Pats will tear the Jets middle defense apart with mismatches and single coverages.Lloyd offers what Ocho and Branch don't, a way out of teams clogging the middle with defensive players. The more one on one matchups for Gronk and Hernandez the better IMO...

This is my all time favorite thread ever, in all ways, and on St. Patty's day no less, GOD I am drunk, and happy, on on some weird girls phone down the pub checking Pats news:singing:

I know you didn't post in that thread, you went off in another thread weeks later...just like you did when I posted an OPINION that the Pats would tag Welker, which they did, which YOU rebuked me for in another over the top egomaniacal MoScrewsLooseThanTen Cannons extravaganza..and to finish it all off there was that petty, little girl snarkfest you posted in response to another OPINION that Manning would be Miami's next QB...well, he shunned them but he also shunned the team YOU were pontificating from on high was the REAL frontrunner. Now you want to lie and run your punk mouth...your reasons are the "RIGHT!!" reasons? YOU were all over the Wallace to the Pats bandwagon.

Never mind all this crap,I was just waiting for this to happen so I could draw you out...I knew your response would be "moron!!" ...now once again I'll ask you in plain English that even YOU, the Olympian Narcissist of Patsfans can understand...USE the ignore function...and stay off my back.

I was on the Lloyd bandwagon from day 1 http://www.patsfans.com/new-england...on-lloyd-re-patriots-reuniting-mcdaniels.html

I knew they would tag Welker if they didn't get a deal done, so I don't know what you're talking about.

I also predicted that Lloyd wouldn't be signed to a long term deal or for top WR money. I said the other night that it would probably be in the $4-5M range. Turns out it's $4M without incentives and $5M with them per Ron Borges. And I was against persuing Wallace from the get go so maybe you're just having a psychotic breakdown or something...

I didn't get on your back, you called me out in a thread you seem to think makes some point about your being right when it doesn't. So get a clue and do more than just ignore me...

Well, the fact the Jets have no pass rush is really going to hurt him now. In the playoffs two years ago, their pass rush was overrated and most of the pressure came from great coverage.

I expect them to put Revis on Welker and Cromartie on Lloyd or Hernandez and potential trade for Tebow so God can cover the other two receivers (either Herndandez and Gronk or Lloyd and Gronk) because they got no one for the rest.

I kinda feel bad for Rappaport. He is a pretty good reporter and he is getting creamed on Twitter for getting this wrong.

The Jets just extended Marky Mark's contract, a great value extension if you would believe me. That's where the bulk of their improvement will be coming from.

This is great news, and addresses a need for the team. The contract is just an amazing deal for the Pats. Early September cannot get here fast enough!

Maybe he sent his erroneous report out this morning from the middle of someone's funeral.

LOL! Yeah, I actually think he got too much crap for that although he was clearly in the wrong there too.

Too much crap from the sports media concerning the New England Patriots these days:

Mike Wallace
Reggie Wayne
Danny Amendola
Mario Williams

I think the Jets pass rush in 2012 will be determined by the maturity or lack of from Muhammed Wilkinson and Aaron Maybin

Both Wilkinson and Maybin had some good showings in 2011 with Maybin showing a glimpse of why he was chosen as a 1st round selection.

Randy Moss in 2007 with Tom Brady throwing him the ball:

1,493 yards with a 15.3 yard average

Brandon Lloyd in 2010 with Kyle Orton throwing him the ball:

1,448 yards with a 18.8 yard average

Just saying

Maybin is an one trick pony. He was pretty good in the middle of the season, but disappeared down the stretch. If you watched most of the games where he got pressure or sack (along with the play Brady's blazing speed made him miss him like three time on the same play), he was initially taken out of the play but the QB held onto the ball so long that Maybin used his speed to come back and make the sack from behind. That is why he had so many strip sacks because he was knocked five to ten yards behind the QB and then ran back behind him to make the sack.

Wilkerson is a DE in the 3-4. I don't think you can generate a consistent pass rush if your best rusher is a DE in a 3-4.

They will need to draft a couple of good pass rushers to make a significant improvement.

What is it you think you're 'just saying'?

Funny you made this comparison. I was actually thinking that I hope Lloyd does not pull a "Moss" and quit/pout about not getting the ball...

We all know what happens when Brady tried to force the ball to Moss..

That does not matter one bit because the New York Jets have no offense whatsoever.
