Santonio Holmes refuses to return punts that are too good (merged)

Re: Poor Santonio Holmes

Holmes and Edwards make up the biggest combo of douche receivers in the league.

If Bill Belichick were the coach of that team, forget returning punts at "fun" Heinz field -- you'd be lucky to be in uniform at all for the next game. See: Glenn, Terry.

Or you might be a Viking or a Raider or a Bronco

See Moss, Randy; Seymour, Richard; Maroney, Lawrence. None of them left purely for on- field performance issues.

It occurs to me that the Steelers organization deserves props for unloading this loser. Very parallel to the Patriots and Moss, in fact, except that they only managed to get a 5th in return.

Superb illustration, Kontra!

Some similarities, but, in fairness to the Steelers — and Moss — Holmes has a bit more baggage.

But has also been more productive than Moss (despite the Dolphins game). Hindsight of course, but as for value the Moss trade seems to win for the time being.

Wait, wait, wait...This has to be an Onion article. I mean, no professional football player would ever do that...err...right?

You know the NY Rats season is grading into the surreal when quotes from a player make that portion of the article unintentionally read like something out of 'The Onion'.

Wow...

I mean I knew the Jets were tools, but he actually said this crap... IN PUBLIC!

he wouldn't be returning punts next week or any time soon, to be sure.

Does Holmes also explain why stopped catching perfectly thrown passes in the end zone?

As a protest for having suckass Mark Sanchez as his quarterback.

Another gem from that article is this:

"Come on man, I played with Kyle Boller for six years [in Baltimore]," Scott reasoned, referring to the struggling Ravens offense under the mediocre quarterback. "You don't think I've seen anything like that before?"

Way to prop up your QB, by comparing him to Kyle Boller.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that is stunned to read this.

What happens next on that team? Does Cromartie take himself out of the game because he can't get an interception because the opposing QB is throwing the ball too good and it's no longer fun anymore? WTF???

As a football fan, this is offensive. As a Pats fan, this is way awesome.

God bless the Jets...every day is a gift. They're turning into Football Hannukah.

Holmes is an idiot but, he's got talent no doubt. I wonder if jets keep both stonehands and holmes.

Maybe we shouldn't be getting so high and mighty.

After all at the end of the second quarter Tom Brady disobeyed a DIRECT ORDER from Bill Belichick to take a knee and threw a touchdown instead.

The man is a punt returner, not a spectator. Have you any idea what these zero returns do to his future income possibilities as a playmaker?

From a kick returner's point of view, if all you're interested in is padding your stats, aren't these the kind of kicks that you want?? For years, we hear about punters " outkicking the coverage", allowing the returner to get a running start and good yardage on returns.....
Shouldn't he have just backed up the 10-15 yards and get better yardage on his returns, making his numbers better???? Please tell me the Post reporter lifted it from the Onion not realizing it was satire?????

What is it about wide receivers, in particular, that causes them to have this Me Me ME! attitude so much more than most other position players. I mean, I can see why OLinemen are the way they are, but why does it seem that WRs are 10x worse than RBs or QBs?

Thank God for Welker and Branch. These prima donnas may have some talent, but they suck as teammates.

Can you imagine how well this would go over with Bill??

Read It In NY Post Early This Morning. Holmes's Actions Clearly SPEAKS VOLUMNS! I'm Gonna Write Into NY Post To Hondo Since He Put An Asterek Next To Patriots Name In Post All Year In 2007 "Caught Cheating" I'm Gonna Tell Him To Put One Next To His Jets Team " Caught Tripgating" Can Always Count On Jets To Make Us LQQK Real Good! ahem Mo Lewis!
