If Cleveland takes Sanders and Giants takes Hunter
Leaves us Carter
If Cleveland takes Carter and Giants take Sanders
That leaves is Hunter

Sanders will be a BUST.It sounds like Sanders' pro day went well enough to corroborate his good film. I think Cleveland takes him at 2 because they are desperate for an inexpensive QB, and if they don't take him at 2 and think they can get him later:
- the Giants could take him at 3 (at least a 50-50 chance)
- the Saints would likely take him at 9 as their plan B to Derek Carr & Rattler
- the Steelers would take him at 21 or in the mid-teens, even if they sign Rodgers
- if he fell to the Rams in the 20's, they'd take him as Stafford's heir (he's 37)
If the Browns think they can trade down and still get him - e.g. with the Jags at 5 - the Giants are still there, as well as the Saints trading up with us to #4. Also I see Dart as another Pickett so he's not a replacement for Sanders as a r2 choice.
So I think the Browns are kind of locked into taking him.
I think Pats go OTI am now totally convinced that Sanders will NOT be picked in the top 3 and we will not get Carter or Hunter (either would be ideal). So I guess I'll spend the next 2 plus weeks trying to rap my head around what we will do on day one.
Now I don't believe that anyone we will pick with #4 will be a disaster. It's just that it won't be the blue chipper who would help take away the pain of the 24 season.
Ward, Carter and Hunter are going to be the top 3, but who will be #4 will have at least a half dozen names and trade scenarios attached to it. When you draft in the 20's and 30's or even in the teens, you are rarely the subject of national attention in the draft season. Now the Pats are going to be in speculation heaven in the couple of weeks leading up to the day. Will they trade down? Will they take the OT? Will they take the DT, or the WR, or the Edge guy, etc
Strap 'em on guys. It's going to be a wild few weeks.
That of course, would be the safest pick. Campbell would get the least media and fan backlash. But do you pass up, say Graham would might be an annual all pro for someone who might end up being an average but solid starting LT or a very good LG.I think Pats go OT
I don't know. Last year the Pats said they knew weeks ahead that it was Williams and then Daniels. I think the info was pretty accurate at the combine last year based on the Giants Hard Knocks. The reality is that we have absolutely no clue what the Giants are thinking. Everyone outside of these organizations are still speculating at this point, even the most connected media members. As Belichick once stated, accurate information about what teams plan to do doesn’t start leaking out until 12 to 24 hours prior to the draft.
I could’ve mentioned William in the same category as manning/Luck/Lawrence. When the Bears gave him their playbook well before the draft, that was a pretty good indication that he was going number one, if anyone had any doubt prior to that. You are right about Daniel’s but that’s still the exception rather than the rule. Until the night before or the morning of the draft, rumors were still flying that the Patriots were interested in JJ McCarthy, when by all accounts Maye was their guy all along. McCarthy was also being linked to the Giants right up until draft day.I don't know. Last year the Pats said they knew weeks ahead that it was Williams and then Daniels. I think the info was pretty accurate at the combine last year based on the Giants Hard Knocks.
The consensus mocks had the top 4 picks nailed down well before the draft last year. Teams spend the entire year analyzing these prospects, they have a pretty good idea after the combine what they are going to target. I rarely see these supposed smoke screens.
This year the top 8 are all over 50% in the consensus mock draft. Pretty good consensus. The only thing to throw these off would be trades. Giants could trade down if they wanted Sanders as they could get him lower, and Pats could trade down if someone wanted Graham ahead of the Jaguars.
Teams are analyzing what others will do pretty early on.
Nope. First Ballot Hall of Famer…yup. First ballot. But check back with me after the draft.Sanders will be a BUST.
Guaranteed Bust if the Browns take him because they suck at drafting QBs.
At least 2 teams will go QB within the first 3 picks. Book it.
He would be throwing to Greatness on the Giants M Nabers. Regarding the Browns: J Jeudy had Great year catching passes from Winston. If Carter somehow is there at 4….run do not walk to turn in the pick
He would take the pats d to a whole different level
Great player. Will be a top 3 sack guy in next 2 years
I can not believe the giants or Browns would be stupid enough to draft Sanders in top 3
