Sanchez led the league in dropped INTs from his passes

Not at all. There is 1 winner in the playoffs. I, and most of this board have always felt that way. Remember the blasts for the Colts putting up an AFCC game particpant? There was no bragging about getting to the AFCC game and losing in 2006 around here.
Nothing has changed in that opinion as a result of us not being the team that made it a little farther than when we were that team.

Yes, 31 teams are all non-Super Bowl winners. Those 31 teams are not, however, equal. The Jets are beating the Patriots in head-to-head matchups, and they are getting further in the playoffs. When bantering back and forth about the two teams (Pats/Jets), the Jets fans have got something to crow about that's something better than "division winner!".

Those moral victories are something to be proud of I guess
You got an extra week. Winning a playoff game is meaningless if you don't win the SB. Getting further before being bounced is simply a moral victory. You can keep those.

im not happy my team lost in the afc champ game, but it was fun to watch them get there. i guess thats a moral victory, but not really. my point was a poster bringing up ridiculous stats, and myself bringing up stats.

People need to lay of The Sanchize. It's quite simple, he's a quality, classy quarterback that has touch on the football. He's not a thrower, he's a quality passer. His mind is ahead of what the defense's is. If the Jets can support him they will win the championship. Period.

I'm sure some people may feel that losing later in the playoffs is something to crow about. I don't. Didn't when it was in our favor, and still don't when it is not.

So you think a loss in the 2nd or 3rd round of the playoffs is worse than a one and done?

That's a minority opinion for sure

At least a win in the playoffs followed by a loss can keep you excited about the team progressing further next year while 2 consecutive one and dones like NE has had back to back AND AT HOME to boot leaves a lot of Pats fans doubting the team inside their minds once they enter the playoffs again.

I don't care what anyone says in here...IF the Pats get to the playoffs next season there won't be ONE single fan 100% confident they will advance on after the first game....and how can you blame them?

What the Pats did before 2008 seems like a distant memory as the years go on.

This stat is certainly not a feather in the cap of the Sanchize. Not many stats look impressive for him.

Regardless there is talent in him and he seems to play well in crunch time. He is no TFB but he could be Troy Aikman, still lots of upside to the Kid. Time will tell.

Where did I say one and done is better? Try reading before responding.
Whether or not fans are confident of what will happen in the future is really irrelevant.
Are you saying that you measure success by how far you go before being eliminated rather than by SBs?

At this point he isnt Trent Dilfer yet. Do you realize how good Troy Aikman was?

If this dropped INT stat is valid, I forsee BB the innovative defensive genius playing his WRs at DB against the Jets 2 games a season. Picks galore!

I'm guessing it's a case of teenager body lotion getting all over the balls, making them difficult to catch.

Troy Aikman was a first-ballot hall-of-famer that led his team to three Super Bowl championships.

You think Mark Sanchez can do that?

Um..........good luck.

I have high hopes for Sanchez, and my point was that Sanchez could be a Troy Aikman type of QB, I see that as his ceiling, a system QB. But good enough.

Aikman was a great QB, started off shaky early in his career, was surrounded by talent. Troy was not on the same level as a Payton, Tom, or even a Drew. IMHO

I'm thinking maybe
Bubby Brister

might be a good match.

I think Sanchez will improve. He's already shown that he can handle the big stage. He has it in him to have a big game in a big spot. That much we know, and that's a very big positive. He still makes a ton of mistakes and is terribly inaccurate. He's very lucky to have had the success he's had, playing with a big-time defense and running game, and having the kinds of receivers he has to work with. Put it this way: if Brady, Brees, or Peyton were on the Jets, you'd quite possibly be celebrating a 2nd consecutive SB title.

If he approximates what Aikman became, you will be very happy, because Aikmans was great.

ahh who cares. hes a good QB. we are gonna have to deal with him the next 10 years.

Aikman was a much better QB than Bledsoe.
Aikman is underrated because of the offense he played in, but he was an excellent QB.
I don't know what you see in Sanchez that resembles Aikman, he was renowned as the most accurate passer of his era, an excellent leader and very smart. Those are not the qualities Ive seen anyone describe as strengths in Sanchez.

Aikman, Brady, Brees, and many other great QBs also took over teams that were awful and elevated them. Arguably so far Sanchez has been the anchor holding back a good team that drafted him.

Two years into his NFL career, he's a bottom 5 starter. That's only "good" if you're grading on one hell of a curve.

Sanchez is not a good player. He's in one of the best situations and still can't produce like a top QB. If the Jets had a top QB they may have already had a SB by now..
