This tweet said that but I can’t find anywhere where the NYT or any other source actually said it. All I’ve found is one story that said an anonymous source linked to the Athletic said they are looking into this single incident.

No, I just think they’ll bungle it.

They will virtue signal with an investigation followed by summary execution. Then they’ll settle the ensuing unjust termination lawsuit quietly out of court to forestall discovery of internal emails and exposure externally of how poorly run things were.

She's cooked because she crossed a professional boundary regardless if they're banging or not. I don't think the times care about the money. They simply can't have her around and maintain the integrity of the organization.

I was surprised by the fallout to her job because the Washington GM's wife publicly accused her of sleeping with her husband to get scoops and that had no impact.

I always find it weird how people's reaction changes drastically just because they see something instead of hearing or reading it.
