RUMOR: Revis "to hit the market?"

Any real possibility of swapping draft picks with the Jets if they persuade Revis to go back to them?

Wrong....

I did copy the tweet but this was what came out...

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>CB Darrelle Revis has informed the <a href="https://twitter.com/Patriots">@Patriots</a> that he will not be re-signing with the team and will sign elsewhere once free agency begins</p>&mdash; Ian Rapoport (@Rap_Sheeet) <a href="https://twitter.com/Rap_Sheeet/status/575300117424640000">March 10, 2015</a></blockquote>
<script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

so I never posted it cause it looked like a bunch of jargon...

Rap_Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

I am not surprised that it has come down to the last minute with this guy.

No need to, the Patriots will be getting their first round pick for the worst case of tampering in NFL history.

Raiders involved now!

Other than stupidity, it still makes no sense for either the Jets or Browns to sign Revis.

The Jets should use that money to fill the many, many holes they have on their team. They passed up on some good young free agents who have committed to other teams because they are so focused on Revis. By the time the Jets have a shot to be good, Revis will be past his prime.

The Browns already have Haden and drafted Justin Gilbert eighth overall last year. And now they want Revis too? What will they sign Revis and then draft another CB with the 12th pick?

Well that sounds believable.

You are assuming that the Jets are interested in building a championship team, that is wrong! All Woody cares about is winning the back page of the NY Post. That is why he kept Rex as long as he did, because he was good publicity. Signing Revis does almost nothing to improve the Jets chance of actually winning the Superbowl, unless anyone hear thinks Geno could win the Superbowl? Anyone?

Woody wants to win the back page, that is about it!

************, it's NOT that hard to follow the proper twitter accounts.

Lol Revis isn't going to Oakland or Clev.
I wouldn't say he is not, I just don't think they are going to make an offer which he wouldn't refuse.

Why are you doing this to my heart, Revis?

I think if the jets gets Revis, then nick foles could become a possibility for the jets via trade.

It could help their chances, but I still think they still need more help

Giving Revis $16 plus million a year and $40 plus million in guarantees to be on the back page for a day or two. I think my argument that the Jets are stupid to be chasing Revis is further proven.

Personally, I think it is deeper than that. I think Woody heard all last year how stupid he and Idzik were for not even trying to get back Revis letting him go to the Pats and let them win a Super Bowl and how much of geniuses they would have been if they let Revis rehab in Tampa for a year, get him back last year, and get Sheldon Richardson for the trouble. I think he will be labelled a genius by the media and fans if he seriously overpays for Revis a year later.

I think Foles is a mediocre QB who had a good season because teams weren't expecting him and didn't know how to defend the Chip Kelly offense. I think he will never repeat a year like 2013 which was overrated because how few INTs he threw.

Very true, but can he be worse than Geno ? Lol

I find it funny that people actually believe that Revis won't go to a team because they had a bad record or are a lousy organization. Revis played one season here so people are delusional if they believe that he will take a discount to stay here. He will go to the highest bidder which won't be the pats.

Thanks for your year of service Revis but its time for the pats fans to move on.

I don't blame him for going to the highest bidder. He's well aware this is his last opportunity for a big money deal. I still think the Pats are the favorite to land him, but I don't see him taking a discount on his last top-of-the-line pay day. I would understand the Pats' hesitation toward committing huge money to a 30 yr old corner. The similarities to the Nnamdi Asomugha situation are eerie. Asomugha was the top CB on the market (in the argument for best CB in the game vs. Revis) in 2011, and he was about to turn 30 in July. Philly got one decent year out of him, and the the following year the drop off in talent became obvious. Revis will be turning 30 in July. I am not saying they're the same player, but Father Time is undefeated.

Aside from the fact Woody and the Rats need to be severely punished for their blatant tampering, wouldn't it be hilarious if the Rats overpaid Revis so much that it caused them to eventually lose other players?

Imagine if the Pats ended up with Wilkerson or Richardson.

Yankees have entered the Revis sweepstakes. @rapsheetforeelz
These are the free-spending Yankees of the past. I think the Red Sox are more likely. At least he stays in the Boston area.
