RUMOR: Revis "to hit the market?"

Status
Not open for further replies.
NFLN just threw to commercial with:

"And where's Darelle Revis going to go? A little bit more than a half hour until it can become official..."

Umm, that doesn't sound good.

LOL really? typical TV "tune in next week for the conclusion" hook crap.

Doesn't mean they have inside info just the obvious fact that in 25 mins he is a free agent.

If Revis not signing yet makes you si it
ck to your stomach you need professional mental help. Life will go on. Pats will more than likely be in the AFCC with or without Revis.

U been hiding under a rock the last 8 years? We have seen BB trying to fix this secondary before guys like talib and revis came here. I would agree they could get away with it if they had a dominant d line.

Okay, they're back...

Rappaport has nothing - they were talking about Suh. A-holes.

Twitter will have most news immediately. Usually several minutes before anything TV or NFL Network.

Latest rumor is that Revis has opted to play next year in the CFL. After he won a SB, he has decided he wants to add to his legacy by winning a Grey Cup.

The funny thing here is there has been absolutely nothing from either the Patriots or the Revis camp on any of this since the end of the season. Have they even swapped proposals? Are the Pats content on letting Revis test the market? None of this makes any sense. They let Vereen go without even an offer. They over spent on McCourty, who apparently is going to be very busy tackling receivers downfield as opposing offenses once again shred the Pats zone secondary full of 5' 8" UDFA CBs.

I'm guessing that the only moves that the Pats need to make to get under the salary cap is to decline Wilfork's and Revis' options. Imagine if they start free agency but cutting Revis, Wilfork, and Browner?

In the immortal words of Vinny Barbarino........I'm so confused! What is the plan?

Doug Flutie approves.

I posted the following last night:

Champ Bailey was an All-Pro at age 32. Same with Deion Sanders.

Charles Woodson was an All-Pro 3 times, at age 32, 33 & 34.
But you're going to have some degree of skill decline in your 30's at a skill position. Not for nothing but Revis does have a history of knee surgery. If he gets a fat contract from us and we win another superbowl in the next 2 years, I won't complain but there is potentially a substantial risk of an Asomugha-type scenario that we should be mindful of.

How often do we ever hear details of a Pats negotiation before the deal is done (or the player is officially gone)?

Mr Revis, we know you want to hear your favorite song at least 10 times next season, not just once..

Pats are always quiet about negotiations. Revis isn't in a position where he needs to speak out to the media.

Wow RT @JayGlazer Saints and Seahawks are trying to finalize trade Jimmy Graham and a 4th rounder for Max Unger and Seattle first rounder

..wow indeed.

Would appear that 0 catches from their TE's in the biggest game of the year against a team notoriously bad against TE's caught their attention.

I'm totally with you on this. I'm hoping there is a plan but if it is letting a bunch of average undersized corners running around the field giving up huge plays, I have to wonder what the hell the Pats could be thinking.
