I'll take Jack Bauer at his word, he hopefully is no Clemens. I'm really happy that he'll be here 5 years. That pretty much guarantees at least 2 more SB appearances. This is too good to be true. I'm gonna have a gin and tonic.

This rumor was reported on a message board over 20 minutes ago, don't you think Schefter or someone else (Reiss) would have confirmed it by now? Smells like bullsh*t to me, and the Mods need to fix this thread title so people don't think this is official.

I don't need to. My cousin just e-mailed me and a friend of his girlfriend's sister was surfing the net on Arizona Cardinals forums. He heard that it was 5 years 100 million with 50 million guaranteed.

I wouldn't worry about it. With Shefter and Lombardi, who has ties to Belichick, both sounding like it would happen VERY SOON (Lombardi said tomorrow), I think it's clear the ice has been broken on this.

Still, it seems strange that no one of the 100s of posters here also heard it, or that no one else is reporting it... it could be a mistake. I still am confident he's going to sign, but the report may be premature. We'll see soon enough though, if it's true.
