Rodgers already knocked out of the game against the Bills

putting a 39 year old QB behind a weak OL is a recipe for disaster

love it

Max Kellerman got a lot of crap for saying Brady was going to fall off the cliff between age 39 and 40. He was not wrong. Brady was just the ultimate outlier.

I know what you were trying to say but Max was wrong. He admitted he was.
When QBs reach that age one of two things happens either their play drastically falls off or they get injured like Rogers just did last night literally on the first drive of the game.

I do feel bad for him but I also wonder if this will bring about his retirement from the game. Achilles injuries are nasty to try to come back from especially at his age.
There were other QBs who ruptured their Achilles in their 30s and came back. Dan Marino was one but was early 30s. Vinny T was 36ish when he blew his out vs NE Week 1 in 1999.

If the tear is clean, the surgery and healing go well and he puts the work in AR can absolutely come back. The question is will he want to.

Meh. It wasn't a bad hit that caused the injury. The recipe for disaster for the Jets was giving up what they did to acquire Rodgers just a few months shy of age 40. This is the Brady effect IMO. GMs think these great Qbs can do what Brady did because Brady made it look so seamless and actually played some of the best football of his career in his 40s. Brady was a unicorn and it is rather ironic that the team who launched Brady's career (thank you Mo Lewis) is the one betting on an aging great QB to do what Brady did and their season effectively ended on its 4th offensive play.

he dropped back twice and was hit both times, though......if you're going to go with a vet pocket guy at QB, you'd better load up on OL

Ok now, on to business. I cannot believe this happened. This is the absolute most Jete thing that could have happened. I hope he takes all the money and buries their cap situation. Trading for a 40 year old QB. What could possibly go wrong?

Jete gonna Jete.

For what's supposed to be the best division in football feels like none of the 4 teams in the AFCE have a good OL.

Lasted all of three plays. Took a sack, and ended up staying down before needing help on his way to the sideline. Looked like it may have been an ankle injury, but either way, he's already out of the line-up. Very quiet right now at MetLife.
The jets defense is and will be the problem for offenses all season. Once again they made Allen look mortal.

Sauce didn't have his best game in Coverage, and they still turned over Allen.

If we don't continue to make self inflicting things on offense then the division is in play for us IMO..

He was supposed to be on the McAfee show today...I wonder if that changes

I don’t normally laugh at injuries unless it happens to a Ben Rothesberger or Tyreek Hill, off the field cretins. But this is just…I’m sorry but lol. Lol.
Great points.. LOL OL.. dirty Ben his transgressions never seem to get mentioned.. he's never seen a restaurant bathroom he didn't like...

Bills look like their window is over
Miami may be the only team to truly be challenging
There's nothing to fear about a Jets team led by Zach Wilson lmao

Of the olines in the division I’d have to say the Pats looked the best of the 4 this weekend.
Absolutely agreed, I'm all about letting the rookies play.. I'm weary of having to rely on guys that just can't seem to stay healthy.. so I'm fine with the O line the way it is.. let them learn and gain NFL experience.. same for the WRs.. Parker and TT just aren't reliable players.

LOL.. he played catch with Milano. Allen if he continues to run like that will be on IR by mid season.

Jets D will be a serious problem…they are excellent.

Miami offense is a challenge to behold.

Allen had one bad game…good offense.

BUT, if Pats can get wins the next two weeks the forecast does change.
