It is a pretty outlandish idea. I never seen anything like that in any business I have ever been involved in. The owner sending in a person with zero training or experience to get second hand information to learn how the business runs.
It just seems like being a lawyer and building a case to me, which she has lots of experience in.

1. Wickersham reported about her promotion a week ago.
2. The Krafts waited a week or more to announce her promotion right after Mayo's introduction as the head coach was finished.
3. She will be one of Mayo's direct advisors. Why dodge announcing her?
4. This has Jack Easterby written all over it.
That's a good omen since Pats won 3 SBs while Jack was here.

I feel like that was more Ernie than anything. Although, Jack was certainly an interesting character, at least based on what came out after the fact in Houston.

I have. Worked for a Canadian developer w/ more money than God. I was in charge of his FL projects. He sent this millenial bean counter to learn the business. One if his golden boys. Lol

Smart kid but you can't learn land development on the fly, just too complex. At the end of the day, all these business types are interested in is the bottom line. I resigned within a year (not because of the kid, cheap bastard waffled on my bonus). They still made a ton of money.

That's not the situation here. I'm not sure why people believe the Krafts want to personally run the show. They're delegators. Of course they want to establish checks and balances after dealing w/ Bill for 24 years. Can't really blame them for that. It's sound organizational policy.

From everything I‘ve seen she’s not about building cases. She’s a contract lawyer not a litigator. Sounds like she does M&As, strategic partnerships, that sort of thing. And quite possibly is the negotiator not just the scribe drafting contract language, that’s what paralegals do,

She has already spent time questioning players and coaches about how/why things were done behind another coach's back. I wouldn't call that a flunky snitch. Watchdog is probably the term I should have used, but while she may not be present during certain aspects of team ops she does gather information. I doubt it's for her own pleasure.
If she's smart, which she undoubtedly is, she's gathering information to make her better prepared for her new position. By her own account, she's not a football person. In all fields, knowing the correct verbage is indispensable for proper communication. She's an advisor to the HC. It's obviously not for football related matters. Mayo doesn't need her advice for that.

My guess is most GMs don’t actually deal with the details of every contract and probably don’t deal with every player’s negotiations.
My guess is you're wrong. One of the top priorities of an NFL GM is signing free agents and negotiating contracts. And sure, there are assistant GMs who will help along those lines, but she isn't an assistant GM now, is she?

And the fact is the Patriots have never had a GM under Kraft.
Of course they did. They had one guy who was the GM in name and another guy who was the GM in reality. And each had decades of experience in football operations.
And even when Belichick was the defacto GM, we know others like Pioli and Caserio did a lot of the contract negotiations. I really don’t think Belichick was negotiating the details of a legal document of a contract.
What "details" are you talking about? Vacation days and use of the company car??

There are no "details" in NFL contracts to negotiate. A GM negotiates a player's signing bonus, salary, length of contract, etc. Those aren't "details"; those are all major parts.

I've never heard of a GM having the role of being Senior Advisor to HC. Bunch of nonsense.

According to Perry & Curran, she's expected to be a resource for Mayo in areas where he's potentially not familiar with. I don't think she's expected to be any type of decision-maker, not based on how they described her role.

I want to know more about this hire other than a two sentence tweet, but a senior advisor to the HC seems like a big deal. I guess if it were me, I would want someone to advise me who maybe had been there, done that. Maybe she's an Ernie Adams type. Time will tell.

Belichick was really smart to have Ernie Adams in that role, and I would bet it payed off for them more times than we will ever know. Mayo would be wise to keep that role in play in the organization going forward.

The key point is this: “Glaser joined the Kraft Group in 2007 and reports directly to Chairman and CEO Robert Kraft and President Jonathan Kraft.”

as discussed about BB and Mayo, the Krafts give more trust as it is earned over time. She’s been there 17 years, and reports directly to the owners.

she is Mayo’s leash.

also found this, for some independent context on her role in contract negotiations:

Glaser’s work for Kraft Group has blended business leadership and legal strategy. She has led business affairs and compliance, and spearheaded sales and marketing programs. Glaser has also negotiated a variety of contracts, including those involving players and business deals.

That Mike Kasicky is throwing **** at the wall. Did you hear his voice? He was outraged that they sneaked it in there. Hahaha, what a tool.
Mike Kadlick is one of the worst patriots beat writer out there, is a Mac Jones fan boy and a clown.

What the hell is this role? Advisor of what?

How did they describe the role?

Behind every great man is a women. I think that might be her lol.

Let's be honest. Her primary role will be ordering sandwiches and picking up dry cleaning.
