Yeah, it’s certainly not the sole problem. It’s just one little thing.That’s fair. I buy the argument that the picks weren’t getting the coaching they needed. I just don’t buy the argument that the new grading system wasn’t implemented, so none of the personnel problems count.
To me I think it gets summarized as this:
1) The picks who got coached by Wolf’s guys turned out fine or good
2) The picks who got coached by Mayo’s guys didn’t even look as good as they did in college (regression)
3) They tried to sign multiple premium free agents but none wanted to play in NE, largely due to Mayo
Credit the front office for point 1; replacing Mayo and staff with a Vrabel or Johnson likely solves points 2 and 3
