Robert Kraft's Press Conference

That’s fair. I buy the argument that the picks weren’t getting the coaching they needed. I just don’t buy the argument that the new grading system wasn’t implemented, so none of the personnel problems count.
Yeah, it’s certainly not the sole problem. It’s just one little thing.

To me I think it gets summarized as this:
1) The picks who got coached by Wolf’s guys turned out fine or good
2) The picks who got coached by Mayo’s guys didn’t even look as good as they did in college (regression)
3) They tried to sign multiple premium free agents but none wanted to play in NE, largely due to Mayo

Credit the front office for point 1; replacing Mayo and staff with a Vrabel or Johnson likely solves points 2 and 3

Unpopular opinion du jour:

Bob Kraft deserves some credit for being willing to basically admit he was wrong after just one year. A lot of owners would stubbornly hold onto their poor choice. For the first time in years, I feel as though the organization has made a move in the right direction.

The scouts were still using the old grading system in the last draft because there wasn’t enough time…that was my understanding. Wolf’s grading system will be used for the 1st time in 2025 if he’s still around.

Some of the narrative makes it sound like Wolf came on late last year with no groundwork or frame of reference to build from when trying to put the team together.

Apparently this was Wolf for the four years on the staff from 2020-2023 as a consultant and director of scouting:

I suspect we’ll never know point 2 because someone else is going to be making the picks/free agent choices that Wolf made this year (whether Wolf stays or not).

“Jerry they made me director of player personnel”

“Isn’t that great? You always wanted to be a GM”

“No, it’s terrible, Bill’s job is way more work”

Who is that guy who put Drake Maye at the top of his board? Maybe we can get his advice on things....
That guy is about 80% of the draft guys. Maye as the 3rd pick was the most expected choice league wide.

We could know if Polk or Baker rebound and look better.

No. 80% of the draft guys did not have Maye as the #1 prospect overall. The overwhelming majority had Williams or Daniels.

Jerry Jones is the stubborn one that would not move on from Jason Garrett for awhile and now has McCarthy in limbo

Both times I think he lied was when he answered with just one word, "No!" and stared straight ahead. That was when they asked if Jerod knew it was his last game and the other was if he had input or talked to the coaching staff how to handle the game regarding the first pick.
I think he told the literal truth, that he had not had those specific discussions. I think it’s appropriate for him to stop there, even if he, like you and me, thinks Mayo figured it out.

That's a good example.

Just empty calories and male curiosity....

Everyone

I thought you said Maye at #3. Most guys had Maye at #3.

Robert Kraft, Jonathan Kraft , & Robyn Glaser must go. They are not capable of making NFL Football Choices and Decisions.

Leave the NFL Football Choices and Decisions to be left for NFL Football People to make.

Bye Bye Kraft Family and advisors. Or the New England Patriots will always be a cellar dweller if the Kraft family and advisors make NFL Football decisions and Choices

An Absolute Must Happen.
