Rob Gronkowski injury

The difference though is I'm not sure there were ever optimistic reports necessarily about Dions injury.
There actually were some optimistic reports saying that they thought he may have only pulled the ACL and not torn it completely.

The aftermath of Gronk's injury is NOTHING like the aftermath for Dion. I would know, I was refreshing every page every minute for hours. After Dion there was silence. The only report was by Dr Cho who said that, in his opinion, Lewis had a torn ACL. Which turned out to be right but was not inside information at all. Then a report came out saying that there was little swelling but that the ACL was "loose". Which was a death keel.

This time we have tons of big names, Schefter and Rappaport among them, saying that the injury isn't bad, that there's hope he only had a hyper extended knee.

I think I remember a report or two stating that the ACL was still intact, just "loose." You're right that things were fairly optimistic about having him back at some point during the season. They spoke of him the swelling was not bad, etc.

EDIT: It appears that not everyone saw these optimistic reports initially, so it's possible that you and I read the same news at first. Either way, we'll know more about Gronk soon, hopefully.

This is absolutely true.

Walk around on it? Didn't Philip Rivers continue to practice all week and play in the AFCCG back in 2007?

As you said, I am definitely more hopeful than an hour or so ago, but we will have to wait for the MRI reports before coming to any conclusions. Fingers crossed for sure.

Yes, but QB Rivers != TE GRONK.

I fck hate the donkeys. I think tonight means that forehead's not getting his job back.

But with this it also seems they aren't even considering it to be an ACL at the moment. We will see though

I hope it's the same situation as Paul Pierce in that one final. He grabbed his knee in pain and was wheelchaired away but came back out to play 15 minutes later.

Chris Harper....I never want to hear that name mentioned again

Total scrub!

Jeff Howe @jeffphowe
Rob Gronkowski leaves locker room without crutches as Patriots might have caught a break

If Gronk was seriously injured.. no way he'd be walking without a brace or crutches..

The next 3 games are big. The eagles stink but they will play hard. Their season's on the line

would suck that after all of these positive reports by schefter/rap sheet, it turned out that gronk was out for the year.
talk about a death blow...

just hope for the best!

Note to Chris Price:

Please tell us which Boston media were cheering the Pats' loss in the press box.

Think he is talking about the broncos media homers.

Chris Harper.....grrrrrrrrrrrrr
