Ok, so we are now 1/4 of the way through the season. The first couple of games, they really seemed to be out of sync offensively. Lots of mistakes, bad turnovers, etc. But they were better against Tampa, and they were very good against Atlanta, putting up 30 points and 448 total yards.

It's amazing, btw, that we might be encouraged by 30 points and 448 yards, because just last year, they topped those numbers a LOT.

Anyway, the evolution of this offense has been very encouraging to me. Still a work in progress, no doubt. And there will be more bumps in the road. But Thompkins is growing up quickly, Edelman has been really good, and the running game is solid.

Moreover, their two best pass-receiving options will *hopefully* be returning soon, with Gronkowski and Amendola. And then, later, when Vereen returns too, they'll have a full complement of weapons. By then, the kids will have really developed, I think.

Bottom line: I am very optimistic as this team moves forward, that the offense will once again reach the upper tier in the NFL, hopefully just in time for the playoffs.

Feeling great about it. That's why I keep thinking this team is going to be special if we can do this with this squad at this point.

We should be pretty hard to stop when we get Gronk, Amendola and Vereen back. With our rookies only getting better.

VW's injury sets us a back a bit and I hope Dobson is ok. He was progressing well too. But we're going to have some injuries so we have to figure out a way to deal with them.

I just hope we can get our O back to top shape soon, and when we do, the sky's the limit for this group. Definitely miss the no-huddle though. Hope we can get our guys to the point where we can have it back in some fashion by week 12 and beyond.

The offense is in better shape than we possibly could have imagined. Being 4-0 without Amendola and Gronkowski (with no help from Sudfeld), forced the team to rely on the wide receivers and work even harder in their development than they would have with the 2 top receivers present.

EDELMAN has shown that he catch passes at as high a rate as anyone in the league. I would note that it was Edelman that Brady was most angry with a couple of games ago. Edelman had lots of drops and mis-communications, even while being the dependable one. Edelman has produced as a slot receiver. It remains to be seen how he will be used when Amendola is back. However, Edelman ahs clearly shown his value to the team, as long as he is healthy.

THOMPKINS is our #1. This is the way it has been through the preseason. The only issue is that he has lots to learn. He clearly is learning fast.

DOBSON gets open and has lots and lots to learn.

BOYCE is just getting a bit of chance to get targeted. He looks good. Most likely, he would have been inactive in Gronk and Danny had played these past weeks.

BOTTOM LINE
We're 4-0 and the youngsters are learning, and Edelman has proved himself. And just BTW, so have our three running backs.

I would note that it was Edelman that Brady was most angry with a couple of games ago.

I thought the same thing, but a man much smarter than I made it clear that it was Dobson that Tom flew off the handle at.

No records this season and probably not great stats for Brady, but everything is looking like the offense is going to trend the complete opposite of the 2007 one.

Once Gronkowski/Amendola come back, this offense has a chance to be an explosive one.

The rookies are improving fast...each week Thompkins looks better...and he/Dobson(if hes healthy) bring far more upside to this offense than bringing in a Jag receiver.

and Edelman has proved to be a very productive receiver....and keep in mind once those top 2 come back, Edelman/Thompkins will move from #1, #2 to #3,#4 meaning they will also command lesser defenders

Not surprised how well it's comin together. Havin TB & BB anything is possible and with more playin time new players gain more & more experience and confidence and we can see Brady too feel comfortable goin to them in tight spots. I'm a believer in Edelman to just think he was a 5 or 6 option to Tom when everyone was in there in past. He's tough and makes plays and it'll get that much better when we have a full squad on offense.

The D NEEDS to keep playing strong. This is the first time in a long time where if we can score 30, that is almost a guaranteed victory. That is why I get so excited when they score 30 - of course the improvement has been extremely pleasant. The O will get better, but the D has to step up - especially without Vince. Both sides of the ball are headed in the right direction, I hope it continues.

I'm currently in Virginia, deep in redskins territory...was listening to radio while driving around and they were talking about elite nfl teams...they named three...broncos, seahwaks.,,and pats. Still on top of people's mind

2 games with 23 pts and 1 with 30.

I think that many of our expectations were around the high 20's/early 30's, and there's no reason to think otherwise.

I still think we'll have a couple of rougher games per usual, and also a couple of games where we top 40-45--same as any other year.

Things haven't changed as much as many thought they would, and that is incredible considering the overhaul at the position. If our defense can continue to progress, we will definitely be a much tougher team than in the past.

I'll be very interested to see how it all comes together when we have an All World Tight End, a couple of outside/intermediate receivers, a good running game, and a 3rd down back who is a threat to run or receive.

If the rooks keep learning and improving, it just might get scary good. And maybe not 40-50 point good, but good in that sense of controlling the clock, sustaining long drives and wearing down a defense by the beginning of the 4th quarter.
