I'm following up on this because the most detailed discussion I've seen of Harrison's impact in the Titans game is in the Volin article 1/16/2018:
Ben Volin: Patriots’ coordinators had a showcase game against Titans - The Boston Globe
Volin's analysis (I am using his exact words at times)
- mostly a run defender
- strongside linebacker versus weakside against Jets
- Notes the Henry tackle that has been mentioned here
- started rushing passer from end of Q2
- dropped into zone and was in Man on 3 snap (v. Henry and Stocker)
- Snap breakdown: pass rush 14, run 10, zone cov. 3, man cov. 3. 30 snaps on Sat. 57 in the two games versus 40 snaps for the Steelers all season.
- Holding penalty from TE Smith early in Q3
- No pressure when lined up against the left tackle Lewan but by lining up this way he allowed Trey Flowers and Wise to line up over the RT Dennis Kelly where they did well. So this was a good example of indirect effects of Harrison.
Note: this is amazing production for someone added that late in the season! What if any precedents are there for that by the Patriots? They add someone a week before the last game of the season, he contributes solidly in the next two games. Usually these guy maybe a game but they have trouble with the system. I think his impact is already bigger than Floyd's right?
