I didn’t put weirdos in your mouth you glorified spending years in the basement.Don’t put words in my mouth. I want them to be a Super Bowl contender again. I don’t want to build the team to be average at best this year, but not really helping to the long term.
Again, this is the first year of a rebuild where the #1 picks for this team may never see the field this season. The Pats are building for the future. Not for the now.
We are going to be a cellar dweller this year if the Pats were active in free agency or not. If they signed Judon or not. Drafting Maye meant this year was always going to be a mulligan year because he needs to develop more before he can play.
They have 50,000,000 of cap unspent.
Let me try to explain this do you can understand.
If you have the most cap room you have the least money paid to your roster. So to catch up to the other teams you have to spend the most cash.
The cash this year is only salary for players under contract but salary plus signing bonus for new players.
If you add up all the money that each team has contracted to pay to players the patriots are dead last.
Yeah. Maybe if this was the Steelers of 7 years ago who had a window I'd change my tune. The Steelers have basically been a perrenial purgatory team because they are good enough to whup the bottomfeeders but aren't relevant against any contenders and are desperately making decisions like we did when we signed Cam Newton to try to luck their way into maybe some magic happening.I would hate to be a Steelers fan. They are building their team every year to be competitive for making the wild card. They will never be in position to draft a true franchise QB unless they get lucky and someone falls to the low 20s where they pick every year. They are in an endless doom loop of being average.
Their only hope out of it is if Wilson starts to play like he used to (highly unlikely) or Fields ever lives up to his hype (also highly unlikely).
Building is a myth either you have a QB that allows you to contend or you strike some kind of nick foles type magic either way your chances of winning are better if you have a good roster ready for when either occur.I would rather tank than just be perennial borderline playoff teams. That is worse than a couple of awful years to become a contender again. I would hate the Pats to become the post Roethlisberger being healthy Steelers. I think that is purgatory.
After 20 years of the Pats almost always being able to at least pencil in an appearance in the AFCCG every season, I can stomach a could of awful years if the Pats show that they are building something.
I mean if the Pats suck this year after sucking next year and Maye ends up being a dud and they have to start over again in three years, then I will be pissed.
That's what I mean Jennings is a 3 down player. Uche is a rush specialist.Might be...but no live pass rush yet...
And Jennings is one of our best run stoppers....
Well ****
No, you would rather be the worst team in the league.I would hate to be a Steelers fan.
Yep. For a round lower.Pretty much expected. Bill would have done the same thing.
Bill is never going to coach a contender again lol. If he ever coaches again, he's going to be 73 or older and tasked to to work with one of the mediocre teams that ****canned their coach. And with his age and recent track record, he's going to have a short leash. When this team is the worst in the league, has the #1 pick, and Bill returns to coach a contender, Mayo will be on the hot seat. Bob will get the bus ready for someone to be thrown under.
This has been a disaster.
I didn’t put weirdos in your mouth you glorified spending years in the basement.
They had 43 million dollars, are you aware how many players you can sign with 43 million dolllars? You could upgrade half the starters and any number of reserves.
They had the ability to fill many holes, and take a step forward to build off of. Instead they tanked.
Giving up a season of your franchise and your players careers so you can draft a couple slots higher is morinic
Kraft will save $100,000,000 with this plan. Thats the real reason, not to pick 3 slots higher.
I wasn't a big fan of when Bill pulled this crap tooPretty much expected. Bill would have done the same thing.
Uche will have a full time role now..he will need to be an every down player. Judon was such a great person off the field in the same way Lawrence guy was. Sucks to loose those types of men. But it's the NFL and this happens all the time. We still have some young hungry guys and some unproven guys.. oshea Ximmnes.. you can mark my post.. he will be a budding star for the defense! That's what I mean Jennings is a 3 down player. Uche is a rush specialist.
Cowboys missed an opportunity.Bill is never going to coach a contender again lol. If he ever coaches again, he's going to be 73 or older and tasked to to work with one of the mediocre teams that ****canned their coach. And with his age and recent track record, he's going to have a short leash.
And let's be real the disaster is that 95% of the team we will enter into this year with is one that Bill himself built
Me neither. But you know this was a move thar we all saw coming.. and Bill for sure would have done the same thing. We got a 3rd rounder.. I wish my guy judon nothing but the best.. he's going to a team up and coming with a great owner.I wasn't a big fan of when Bill pulled this crap too
