Easy for YOU to say.Frankly, I don't care if it hurts like a shock of a thousand thunderbolts as long as Jimmy G maintains his strength and accuracy to make throws. BOB will test him early and often.
But aren't they putting the idea out there that Grop can play if the pain "can be managed," which would involve shooting him up? This is the gray area that sort of concerns me. I don't like this notion that pain tolerance is the only thing he has to deal with and if he's tough enough, he'll play because "that's what Brady has done." When it comes to a quarterback's throwing shoulder, I think the player needs to simply listen to what his body is telling him. If it hurts too much to throw without the needle, don't throw and let the damn thing heal.Wow! Just WOW!
I can't believe that anyone is doing anything but laughing at this so called "report". Once again, this is NOTHING more than a few facts that have been reworked into a speculative hypothesis, and then reported to the public as fact. In other words the media is once again using Bill's cone of silence about injuries to CREATE the story.
The FACTS are that over the course of his LONG career Brady has played through some tough injuries. IIRC, he played the final game of the 2002 season with a separated throwing shoulder because the Pats still had a shot at the playoffs. And in true Tom Brady fashion, he led a last minute come from behind win over Miami, But unfortunately the Jets, in true Jets fashion **** the bed and lost and the Pats ended up losing their shot to the playoffs in some tie breaker.
Felger was spouting on one of the weekly football shows on CSN, that Brady had 4 AC joint injuries so far in his career and managed to play with them. Now whether that's true or not you have to consider the source. He also opined that the Pats weren't doing a bad thing to JG because having a tough QB solidifies his position as a leader on the team. (again he assumes the Pats are actually doing this).
Now here is the REALITY - This is all just Bull **** media crap. If JG can throw and effective ball and not make his shoulder worse, then he'll play. It's as simple as that. However that being said, no one to date has even said if the kid can raise his arm over his head, let alone throw an effective pass, so I BELIEVE/think, and/or speculate, that this is all window dressing to keep the Texans guessing. That Jimmy will be in uniform on Thursday, but won't play even if Brissett gets hurt. And if BOB is half as smart as I think he is, he's fully preparing for JB to the QB.
On the plus side, what all this JG speculation has me thinking is that there is a better chance than I first thought that JG will play in the Bills game.

Yeesh ... speak for yourself. It's a Messageboard. Everything is easy to say.
Until proven otherwise, we are all overweight 30-40 something year olds living in our mothers' basement with a wifi hook-up.
The telling sign is that it is wednesday and the patriots havent signed anyone. to me that is a sign that either
1. (most likely) Jacoby Brisett starts with Jimmy Garoppolo as the backup in case JB gets hurt or plays horribly and Jimmy comes back against buffalo with 2 weeks of rest.
2. Garoppolo starts and it is just a pain management thing. Lets remember that AC joint sprain he cant damage it anymore by playing.
The playbook looked very limited vs. Miami when Brisett went in. but i am not sure how much of that is Brisett...and how much was the patriots just saying "ok we have a 24 point lead, lets run the ball and be conservative"
There are rumors about Brady playing so injured that he needed assistance taking on and off his shoulder pads because he couldn't lift his arm. Now I don't know if it was his throwing shoulder or not, but he has played with significant injuries that no one knew about. He could barely walk in the Super Bowl in 2008.
Guys, we have no idea of the severity of the injury and therefore no idea if he can play.
The thing I do know is that someone leaked the information about Brady's history with this injury for a reason. You don't just call up a reporter and spill the beans about something like this for the fun of it. Safe to say whoever did it was trying to create a reference point for the public to form an opinion on whether he should play.
Could have come from Jimmy's people. It's his shoulder he is trying to protect before he gets his big payday. Could have come from the team. They just want to win and have the most at stake. Could even have come from Brady's people who want to make Jimmy look bad, however I feel this is unlikely.
Who knows which one it is but I think its obvious there's an agenda being advanced here and all of this speculation about whether he should or shouldn't play is just feeding into it.
Frankly, I don't care if it hurts like a shock of a thousand thunderbolts as long as Jimmy G maintains his strength and accuracy to make throws.
