Report: Patriots Using Tom Brady’s Toughness To Push Jimmy Garoppolo To Return

Dad Gordy is a mitigating factor in Gronk's case.

Given that the Patriots' medicos nearly f—ked up GRONK's arm, I can't really blame Gordy.

just a load of crap .BB doesnt tell everyone what he is doing with the QB position, so make **** up.I am sure the source told this guy " we are pushing jimmy to play using brady" . Only in boston the media tries to find issues or manufacture one for its own team.

It's always funny when it's something like pain management because local media and fans all want the guy to just play through it.

REPORT!!! Brady cheating again!! Pats real BAD!!! Garropolo in BIG TROUBLE!! Bleahhh Blahhh Blab Blab Blabber Blub Glug Gakk!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Newsflash....nobody gives two craps what you lying weasel print media types think...

Let's just take a step back for a minute and keep the following in mind:

--Garoppolo has been patiently waiting, not just 18 months during the deflategate saga, but his whole entire life for this opportunity to showcase himself. To take it one step further, his confidence has to be through the roof after two excellent performances. I think it's very safe to say that Jimmy Garoppolo doesn't need the slightest bit of motivation or "push" to try and play.

The truth is that he suffered a painful injury that occurred with a shortened week of preparation and healing time. This alone likely placed his chances of playing on Thursday pretty low (in my opinion). I think it's much more reasonable that he could play next Sunday vs. BUF, and I'd have to guess that most everyone in the organization likely knew that on Sunday evening. I don't see the controversy or the slightest shred of logic in this so-called "report."

Wow! Just WOW!

I can't believe that anyone is doing anything but laughing at this so called "report". Once again, this is NOTHING more than a few facts that have been reworked into a speculative hypothesis, and then reported to the public as fact. In other words the media is once again using Bill's cone of silence about injuries to CREATE the story.

The FACTS are that over the course of his LONG career Brady has played through some tough injuries. IIRC, he played the final game of the 2002 season with a separated throwing shoulder because the Pats still had a shot at the playoffs. And in true Tom Brady fashion, he led a last minute come from behind win over Miami, But unfortunately the Jets, in true Jets fashion **** the bed and lost and the Pats ended up losing their shot to the playoffs in some tie breaker.

Felger was spouting on one of the weekly football shows on CSN, that Brady had 4 AC joint injuries so far in his career and managed to play with them. Now whether that's true or not you have to consider the source. He also opined that the Pats weren't doing a bad thing to JG because having a tough QB solidifies his position as a leader on the team. (again he assumes the Pats are actually doing this).

Now here is the REALITY - This is all just Bull **** media crap. If JG can throw and effective ball and not make his shoulder worse, then he'll play. It's as simple as that. However that being said, no one to date has even said if the kid can raise his arm over his head, let alone throw an effective pass, so I BELIEVE/think, and/or speculate, that this is all window dressing to keep the Texans guessing. That Jimmy will be in uniform on Thursday, but won't play even if Brissett gets hurt. And if BOB is half as smart as I think he is, he's fully preparing for JB to the QB.

On the plus side, what all this JG speculation has me thinking is that there is a better chance than I first thought that JG will play in the Bills game.

I don't know which was worse, Ken. The news about the racial bias shown to the QB position, or the report that Garoppolo somehow needs motivation to take advantage of his (as of now) once in a lifetime opportunity.

Either way you look at it, the mediot kooks were out in full force yesterday!

It's not these asshats are making it up as they go along that bothers me the most. What they are doing is now standard operating procedure in today's sport's "journalism". What bothers me more is that based on what I'm reading in this thread, how many people are giving this crap credence. (unlike the NYPost thread).

One of the reasons I come here is what I THOUGHT was the high percentage of smart, savvy, and sophisticated football fans, who I hoped would be too intelligent to fall for this kind of media manipulation.

Yes, sir. Couldn't agree more. The drivel that passes for "journalism" these days is completely absurd. I don't know how much social media comes into play, but I do believe that it's to blame on some level.

oh well...where to next, Ken?

We should be talking about the Texans, Joker. A pass rush TRIO of Watt, Mercelous, and Clowney. No one is talking about the fantastic start of Will Fuller has have, to go along with DHopkins, who is on everyone's list of top 5 WR's, to go along with Lamar Miller at RB. This is a MUCH more talented, well rounded, and better coached Texans' team than the "tomato cans" that Shaunessy wants to label them.

That is what should be "next", my friend. Instead all we talk about is what these rumor mongers give us, instead of doing what this site was set up for, which is to talk football. NOW we talk about everything BUT. (and much to my shame, I'm as guilty as anyone)

If it'is just a garden variety AC sprain and nothing more, he'll be shot with cortisone and should be able to play through it.

It's considered pretty minor and it's common for guys to play with this injury all season and get it fixed in the off season.

This however all depends on whether anything else happened to the shoulder and how severe the AC sprain is.

It says in the article he can't physically lift his throwing arm. Is that common of a mild sprain or does it suggest a more severe one?

I'll be there Thursday Night, Ken. I'm not expecting a win by any stretch. I AM expecting a defense that plays aggressively for all 4 quarters though. I will be disappointed if I see another 2nd half like Sunday's. Otherwise, yeah, the script has flipped for us old time long time NFL fans. We are dinosaurs who care about the team, team goals, team values, building character through mutual cooperation. This stuff is passe'.

It's all about political agendas, fantasies, ego mad growth hormone humans pushing their brands, yellow journalist media pukes distorting and inventing narratives to promote and advance their own careers, cyclopean league executives with unquenchable greed constantly inventing new revenue streams designed to shrink your wallet while watering down their product.

I'll be there Thursday night, in spite of it all. Perhaps I'm a fool, or maybe I'm just a stand-up man that refuses to bow to any media jackals and their constant wall of doodoo.I just keep thinking that THIS game, maybe THIS is the one that Blowhardell shows his face. I cannot afford to miss that.

Well at least I'll be rooting for YOUR agenda, buddy. Have a great time, wish I could be there. Good night.

I'd like the Pats to showcase Brissett the next two weeks....get a couple more #1's this off season in addition to the JG bounty

Yeah okay. I'm sure.

"Get out there Jimmy!!"
Coach I can't even lift my arm
"BRADY HAS PLAYED WITH NO ARMS! AND HALF A FOOT! GET OUT THERE!"
"Can he play?"

"He's in a coma."

"ANSWER MY QUESTION! CAN HE PLAY!?"

The news about the racial bias shown to the QB position

that's not news, Supa...that's libel
Libel apparently doesn't exist nowadays.

This is all subjective but I personally think that JG will play because he wants to play and not because BB or anyone else has pressured him.

I'm betting he'll be ready to play whether that's as a backup or a starter.

But for the record I think he plays.
I think he'll suit up and JB starts.

Imagine if Jimmy comes off the bench and leads them to a comeback win?

This place will go bananas.
