RB is an undiscussed weakness on the Patriots

Perhaps.

You seem to think that we have a 69-man roster with no poaching.

If a team were to lose a RB, I agree that a RB would likely be elevated for the next game. However, I would expect that the team would look around to see if there is a RB worth poaching and giving a 3-week trial.

I agree that Larison would likely make the initial Practice Squad. I expect poaching after there are injuries and when teams are building toward 2026.
Unlikely, he’s a nobody. I’d he were, we’d sign a different nobody.

I don't know why people keep assuming Rham is a "big back" and will get the "tough yards inside"...
I've been shouting this for years - he's not a tough inside runner!
He always turns sideways (or backwards) at contact, and falls at the OL feet, and never gets 3rd or 4th &1 conversions when the D knows we're running.
He's decent on the outside, running or pass catching in space, but he does NOT play the role you'd expect for his body size & type.

Now, I think he has value on the team, but we may actually be better with Henderson, Gibson & Larison

Not excited to see Stevenson fumble this season. He gets another shot at RB1. Hopefully he hangs onto the ball AND the oline can open some holes. We will see come week 1. Short leash for this guy

I thinK it's a little...a little... alarmist to call the RB room a weakness, but neither is it a sure strength. Rhamondre is allegedly a "big, strong hard runner" sort of back who can also catch the ball. For a tough-guy runner, there are too many occasions on which his just sort of wilts with the first hit. Occasionally, he'll bull through, but to my eye that at least as often the exception as it is the rule. I hear talk about his pass-catching prowess, but I don't think you see it on the field, and passes to him are more for variety's sake than they are a go-to when you really need a first down or a touchdown. I think he's overrated and overpaid. Gibson is a serviceable NFL, nothing more. The rest are players with potential, but sometime potential is realized, and sometimes it isn't. I think the RB room reflects the team. The starter would quite likely not be a starter on many actually contending teams, and the rest are either whatevers or maybes. For a mediocre team like this, that doesn't make the RB's a "weakness"; it makes them about what one would expect on a team maybe half-way through a rebuild to contender status. It makes them so-so on a so-so team.

I didn't know Gibson's ht/wt when the team signed him. I thought he was a smaller 3rd down back type. 6' 225lb is big enough to be a 1st down back for a few games if Rham is benched.
Ezekiel Elliott was 6.0' 228 lbs when he was drafted. The backs are all big enough to play any downs the Patriots need. Rhamondre Stevenson is an excellent back. If the OL can do its job, the RBs will be better than average in any configuration of a Josh McDaniels offense. The RBs can put up the numbers needed if the passing game is able to carry its share of the load. Besides, Drake Maye is going to attract attention as a runner himself.

If Kendrick Bourne is the odd man out in the receivers' room, you know this offensive roster is far better than the 2024 team.

When Henderson break off some Big runs he'll be #1 soon enough. Would like to see how McDaniels uses Gibby; his receiving numbers was very low last year.

Mondre at 227 lbs is mostly a between the tackles runner. his broken tackles numbers are down.
he apparently has lost 10-14 lbs. does this get him outside more and one on one with smaller defenders?
I really like the group in general, and think 3 can be fresh, healthy and effective.
Stevenson, Henderson and Gibson's spot's to lose.
