Ravens are sitting as the 1st seed ... if they secure that with a game or 2 left
they put Malik out there some and let Lamar sit a quarter? Half? Game? Makes great sense.
Will be great for Malik also he can show himself and learn ... he wasn't going to showcase here this season.
Gives Malik a few weeks in the QB room.

@Ian we need to talk about the title to your article.

IMO "Patriots Lose Potential QB Prospect" is the same as saying "Patriots Lose Potential Possible QB". A QB who is a prospect is the same as a potential QB.

Unless you were saying he was potentially, but not yet, a QB prospect?

That was for all the people who call him a WR first, QB second. Among other reasons.

Wow. We will see Malik in the Super Bowl this season. Same with Lamar. Both players should have been Patriots.

Lamar has to prove he can win in the postseason and get himself over that hump first. But I agree with you though ... if ever there was a season other teams are weakened somewhat to give them an opportunity, this might be the one.

How nice. there goes the last vestige of interest I had in this season..

Barring a major injury to Lamar, we’ll never know if this was a screw up or not. Cunningham was never going to be anything more than a back up QB / utility player here so this doesn’t really impact the Pats.

Seems like a nice guy though…wish him the best of luck personally but not as a member of the Ravens
Harbawl will probably want to put him in if he's any good to stick it to BB.

When Cunningham cleared waivers in October and was free to sign with any practice squad, did the Ravens not offer him a spot or did he pick the Patriots over the Ravens? Seems weird for the #1 seed to suddenly decide a 4th QB is worth a roster spot today.

From reading this thread, if Lamar Jackson gets hurt this weekend, the Ravens will turn to Malik Cunningham at QB. Not their current #2, Tyler Huntley, who's in his 4th year with the team and performed well enough last year to be selected to the Pro Bowl. Presumably, Huntley will remain as the backup while a rookie, who joined the team today, will take over as the starter.

Watching him in preseason and 6 months of practice time may have had something to do with it
Indeed... But after seeing management let Mac start for as long as he has... plus having Jakobi be WR7 in 2020... I lightly question the roster execution for QB/WR up top.

Malik possibly making big coin as Frank from Glostah would say.

$46,000 payout divisional round
$69,00 Conference championships
$157,00 win Super Bowl
$82,000 losing Super Bowl.

Can you substantiate the more upside?
Mobility, speed, evasiveness. Ability to escape from pressure, option for qb runs and rpo.
The best team in the AFC just signed him onto their 53 man roster off the worst team in the league’s practice squad.

Not saying he is a sure thing, but more exciting than Zappe or Mac. What was the harm in giving him a chance for one game?

A player like him needs an offense built around him ... was not going to happen here.
Like I said in a previous post ... Ravens can lock up the top seed ...
he was a good signing to perhaps not expose Lamar in possible meaningless games.

I would have loved to have seen him start a game just for the fun factor. But I said there’s a better than 99% chance he’s not an NFL QB and I’ll stick with it
