Not at 31 and wanting another large contract. Said this in the draft stuff.. Pats need Bookend Tackles..
A QB - WR and the list goes on C'mon DB.

He's not going to be in the future plans here, so it is what it is. On to 2024.
Of course he isn't in the future plans here because he was left unprotected and was taken. And Trent Brown's public comment should tell you how he feels, that MC's talent wasn't appreciated here. Appreciated by whom?

You can't keep brushing off Bill's blunders with one of his nothing responses. There were fans here that were hoping to get a look at MC in a Pats uniform but Bill didn't want to use a roster spot on him so he's gone.

For all anyone knows Bill could have misread the situation this time because he was playing musical chairs with the PS in the past and nobody grabbed a QB, including our current starter. This time one team did and MC looks like he could turn out to be a good fit.

i had no desire to see malik in a pat's uniform......i've seen enough of him to know if i ever saw him at QB for the pats, hell had officially froxen over, and there's a whole list of other things coming along with hell freezing over that i'm not prepared for

I could care less about what Trent Brown thinks, IMO he's part of the problem. I have seen enough of his lack of effort to care if he's ever on the field again. As far as Malik goes, I am not convinced he's going to amount to anything. I get you want to blame Bill for everything that happens, but there's other coaches on the payroll, and it doesn't seem that any of them felt strongly enough to make sure they protected Malik.

I get how much you hate Bill, and everything is his fault, but it's still a player's game, to coin a phrase. The guy couldn't get on the field on a 3-10 team with a horrible offense. Even if Bill is blundering his way thru the post Brady years, surely someone on the staff could have seen this guy's game changing talent and in game vision to get him on the field. No? Not BoB, who certainly has the cache to stand up to Bill? Or, maybe he's just not an NFL level QB. There's plenty of teams besides NE that are starved for QBs, yet the only one who picks him up is the one who's QB's game comes closest to Malik's skill set.

We don't know what goes on at practice and in meetings. Maybe the guy can't grasp the playbook. Maybe he can't process the game fast enough. Who the hell knows? There's plenty of great athletes who don't amount to zip in the NFL. I get that it would be nice to know what goes on down on Route 1. For over 20 years, it's been a bunker. Maybe that will change on Jan 8th, but I doubt it. I don't think any regime is going to allow that type of info to get out.

Many fans here did have the desire to see him play QB. I don't think Bill was one of those though.
The kid hasn't been around long enough for us to know for sure what he'll be.

Bill is the man responsible for Trent Brown and every other player that you don't think will amount to anything. HE puts all the players on the team (and removes them). Not some unnamed coach.

Your infatuation with Bill has you responding to any criticism of his roster moves as hatred. The team has sucked for four straight years and is getting worse and worse and with no end in sight. How long before you've had enough? Five more years? Ten?

And maybe you should rethink that sig line about Brady being a Patriot for life? He should have been a Patriot for life but he wasn't. Bill made sure of that. Bob Kraft doesn't make many mistakes, but choosing to go with Bill over Tom in 2020 was a HUGE one. I hope that doesn't make him gun shy now. He needs to pull the trigger.

I am on record as saying it's time for Bill to go, so there's that.

Bill is responsible for the roster, that's correct. Does Trent Brown not bear any responsibility for his lazy ass play?

I thought we were talking about Malik Cunningham, but like every other goddam thread, you've made it about Bill. Again.

every NFL team had an opinion on Malik headed into the draft, Pats staff has had 6 months with him, and no one else ever put a claim in on him......so I'm kind of ok with the chance the Pats took here

Difficult to understand why Cunningham didn’t get a better look behind Jones and Zappe.

what's a teammate supposed to say?

great athlete, can't read an NFL defense, he did great against a bunch of guys who got cut the next day, there's a reason he didn't see the field here, Baltimore will figure that out soon enough

i mean, come on.......

Probably because he isn’t an NFL-level QB at this point and may never be more than a gadget player at the position. He may be electric as a runner and I wish that they had designed a handful of plays for him this season, to be deployed at strategic times but he doesn’t have the frame to withstand the hits that come with being a run-first QB in the NFL level.

Did that 3 year contract have 1 game guarantee or something? Did not impress me in that 1 game.

None of our QBs is remotely an NFL QB. This is the unforgivable error. But one was making dynamic plays in practice on an offense devoid of playmakers. Once it became clear that Mac couldn’t do the job, it would have been reasonable to give the dynamic guy more reps. We are 3-10 with the worst offense in the league. There was nothing to lose as a team, but might have given fans something to get a little excited about. I understand this is not BB’s concern.

Cunningham was inactive for the Jaguars game. Not sure what the Ravens are waiting for.

Damn - ugly comment.
Trent Brown is talking himself right off the team, which IMO is good news. He is a jag that lacks motivation.
