Ochocinco did stretch the field in 2009. He isn't a monster deep threat like Moss was, but he is a different receiver than Branch. Now his lack of stretching the field last year his fault or Carson Palmer's broken-down arm.

It's 2011.

People love to blame Carson, but I suspect blame can go around.

He's a different receiver than Branch because he's taller, can't hold on to the ball and doesn't go down immediately after the catch like Branch does a lot of the time.

I would LOVE to hear your explaination on how different, better, TODAY'S Chad is from TODAY'S Branch.

First, I said I don't know if his 2010 performance is because of him, Palmer, the poor offensive line, or a combination of them. You don't either.

Second, he is very different than Branch because even if he has lost his speed to be a deep threat his size and strength makes him a far better outside and red zone target than Branch is. Ochocinco can go up against a taller, stronger CB on the outside which Branch couldn't.

Branch can't, so true. I don't think Chad can anymore either. We'll see.

According to reports, Randy was last spotted catching footballs at the Biloxi High School football field.

I guess I will never understand why the policy on which threads get moved or locked here makes no sense other than enforcement is random based on the mood swings of one or two mods (the rest of whom never move or lock anything...). The last Moss thread was moved to the PS, as was the recent Maroney thread. Then there is the season prediction thread which apparently was deemed unacceptable and therefore locked... even though there is a better random chance someone in that thread turns out to be right than there is Moss ever sets foot in Bill's locker room again...

:ugh:

A power trip. It's the only explanation.

No Moss! No Mas! They sound fairly similar.

Or maybe a bunch of people like me email them and ask that the thread be moved because we think it's juvenile and shouldn't clutter up the area where grown-ups want to discuss thing

There's reason for concern with Chad no doubt - but it's too soon to declare him a bust, and too soon to write off guys like Price and Slater taking it to the next level.

I'd much prefer to have a deep threat to keep defenses honest, but I also know that with the numerous options Brady will have at TE, RB, and WR for targets, I know there's no reason for concern about the offense in general as Belichick knows how to exploit matchups.

can Moss play RG? nope... Then im all in favor of moving this thread to the PS

Moss has done some great thing for us and to me is the second best WR of all time.. and yes he should stay retired. But now we have another all-time great, just needs a little time to adjust.
