The rams had 427 yards of offense in that game.

Maye was 6/15/95 in the first half playing conservatively and 11/14/173 in the second half when they let him play.

If you try to play for long time consuming drives you will be punting a lot.
Martz got fired.

Maye had a terrible night last Sunday. He admitted that post game when the interviewer tried to make him out to be the Star. The objective is to convert 3rd downs and not punt. Throwing deep all the time is playing directly into what Houston wants.

Would be nice if A Hooper had a game: we know what H Henry can do. Maye missed A Hooper high on a sure TD last game: we need to scheme him open like that again. We have more weapons than Pittsburg.
Agreed. And our QB won't retire in game like Rodgers did last night... we have some weapons and maye is a duel threat dont want him running unless he has green grass ahead of him..

Pop Douglas has been pedestrian at least Barefoot Mack Hollins can climb the Ladder. I would be a lot more confident if we was available: Maye finds him.
Hollins is being replaced by Diggs and Williams getting more snaps. Boutte will too when he is 100% and Chism. Douglas role hasn’t changed with Hollins out.

Twin: you're too much.

Belichick got fired, what’s your point?

Maye absolutely did not have a terrible night. I just showed you his serving half. Was that terrible? And they WON

The objective is to score points.
Trying to do what you don’t do well because you are afraid doesn’t work.

No one said anything about “throwing deep all the time”.
We need to run our offense, which involves playing for chunk plays rather than moving the sticks and relying on 5-7 3rd down conversions in a drive in order to score and not being afraid of 3rd and long, which we are by far the best team in the league at.

Your plan will lead to a lot of punts and the defense spending all day on the field.

Do they play primarily zone or man? I just know thier rush is ferocious.. Rodgers retired in the 4th quarter last nite.. he pretty much quit on his team.. that was anyone's game up until Rodgers decided to retire in game.

Yes Hollins is missed! But as you perfectly stated Williams on crosses, Diggs, Boutte will absolutely have to be huge.. I'll take Henry on any one of thier safeties... also Drake CAN'T have any TOs this game.. if he does this game could be over fast..
We can't have fumbles or pick 6s on the boundaries. Things that can be returned for TDs. I think we need to live with the possbility of interceptions happening 25 yards downfield.

I will not be upset if that happens.

Their DBs need to be challenged here.

A top defense versus a top QB -- it's a tale as old as time. In the playoffs the top defense comes out on top more often and when the QB does eke it out (Brady vs Seahawks 2014-15) it's usually pretty epic. This is a huge prove yourself moment for Drake Maye.

Again, Brady. They don't have Brady nor do they have a Maye.

Houston wants you to think the deep play isn't on the table, so you have increase your plays per drive and play into their strength of flustering an offense and provide more opportunities for stops and turnovers. Maye's mobility and our depth of targets will open up deep shot opportunity and we shouldn't be afraid to take it, especially knowing how bad their offense is at capitalizing on their opportunities.

Aside from 1 fluky game we have 13 turnovers in 17 games which is near league best in fewest turnovers.
Almost all of the ints are tipped balls. Having Maye throw the ball down the field is a low turnover risk play.

From that article:
11 personnel = one running back, one tight end; 12 personnel = one running back, two tight ends; 13 personnel = one back, three tight ends; 21 personnel = two backs, one tight end; 21H = two halfbacks, one tight end; jumbo personnel = two backs, two tight ends, six offensive linemen.

I assume 21F is a halfback, a fullback and one tight end.
Thanks I think

We need to do what we have done all year. Be aggressive about the down field throws when the opportunity is there.
Our offense has 2 unique strengths; Mayes deep accuracy and his ability to extend plays, which gets receivers open down the field, and find them.

Everyone underestimates Houston's offense but they have high skilled players. Granted they are almost all rookies but by now they are seasoned vets.
Rightfully so.
It's the most basic scheme I've seen at the NFL level in the last 30 years. Your high school runs a more complicated offense. Van Pelt's offense was more complicated.

Inside zone, Bootleg half-field reads, Scramble around PI Bait. That's the entirety of the Texans offense.

It's going to be very mild in Foxboro on Sunday, low wind, 3 pm start, 40 degree temps.

Personally I think Drake will like this more than 20 degrees.

The last time I checked the forecast (3.5 seconds ago) predicts a high of 35 and 34 by kickoff, with temperatures dropping steadily to 28 by games end.

IF we are doing that we'll get in trouble on both sides of the ball. I get your point A.J. we don't want to play tentative: that's not what got us here: we have to take our shots when we have them. Every Defense mix coverages and guys have to take a breather at times. That's when you go for the kill shot.

It's unbelievable twin and he has DK Metcalf..I can bet you DK wish he wasn't traded to Pitt..now they have no QB..
That's what he gets: he should have demanded a Trade to the Patriots. He had enough evidence with Maye last year.
