A CB worthy of the 14th overall pick? Absolutely...This is a good year to need a first-round CB; there might be up to a half-dozen taken in the round.

Agreed. We have a great group of midget corners, need a top of the first round CB #1 who is taller and stronger.

I still think we sign Payne and Edmunds and draft a corner at #14 - we do not need Jon Jones if the Pats believe in Jack and Marcus Jones in Y2. Then the defense is all set (beast mode actually) unless we want to sign a FS in Round 4. There are 4 other draft picks, Round 2, 3 and two picks in 4. So go OT, WR, WR and Center. The WR pool is deep so a 3rd and 4th at WR will be good. We would have McCourty and Andrews' replacement, and the only thing we give up is two new WRs instead of Myers. We can release Trent Brown, use his $12M in cap space and add $5M more and sign McGlenchey. McGlenchey plus a 2nd rounder should start at LT and RT. Hines and Russey are in Y2 so they will help on the inside with the new center. Don't forget this plan eliminates James Ferentz and Myles of Space Bryant - everyone has to love that.

Yes absolutely they are very similar players.. I see Myers staying... he's part of the post brady era of players that have made a name for themselves.. he's a definite pro. Catches everything and always open..
Why is this regularly said on here? If this were true, he'd be in the top tier of WR's statistically. Elite WR's on bad teams with bad QB's still find a way to get the ball in their hands. It really doesn't take much for a team to take him out of a game.
Am I missing some reason Odell Beckham isn’t talked about at all? Obviously the injury is a factor but even with that he’s a better bet to be a game changer than most of the mediocrity on the free agent list this year.
His career is over.

His career is over.
You think so?

A name brought up a few times, Michael Thomas of the Saints is also riding that injury train... Out of the two, I'd rather take a flyer on OBJ...

These guys will all be a big reach at 14. We don't draft this high hardly ever. Last time was 2010.

If we reach when we have a chance at draftng the kind of impact players who always go in the top 15, it will be a huge opportunity lost.

When we've drafted high in the past, we ended up with Seymour, McGinest, Mayo. Which is invaluable compared to a #2 WR.
They’re not big reaches at 14 though. That’s right where some of the draft gurus have guys like Addison and Johnston. The free agent crop of wide receivers this year is terrible and the position has never been more important. Haven’t we seen that this meme was shown to not hold up

His value is greater here I feel.. Buffalo is going to be a different team themselves they have a ton of key guys that are free agents.. so who knows what thier cap situation is.. Myers all things considered made elite players here he'd easily be over 1000 yards if he hadn't missed time with the knee.... those are the guys you root for and want to keep..
I wouldn't be surprised if the falcons make a run for Meyers . They already have a game changer in Pitts . Adding Meyers and a decent QB will make them potent in a weak NFC south .

Commanders have more than 30 million in cap space . What makes you think they will allow Payne to get away .

Yeah that's true, thier QB situation is uncertain.. who knows if mariotta is the long term answer there in ATL.

I'm sure Jakobi is going to be looking at qbs.. he has such a great on/off field relationship with Mac I just see him valued greater here than anywhere else..

Reliability and availability will get you paid as well.. aside from him I've actually tempered my WR free agent expectations.. I feel we will be sniffing around the Allen Lazard types of WRs , I'd absolutely be happy with him.. 6'5 a burner, great hands, physical and tough..

Reports were he wasn't 100% so he didn't want to sign anywhere until he was 100%

Is the reason why I've stated I'd like to see M. Jones on offense at slot option.. his elite speed has more value there then playing CB.. still feel like Ramsey is a viable option at CB for us.. 6'2 rangy, physical, excellent foot work, great against the run.. the rams system doesn't fit him.. he'd be excellent here.. mayo could do so much more with Ramsey locking down WRs..

The way Arthur Smith was talking about Mariota, after he left the team (after he was benched) i think we can safely say his future in Atlanta could be best described as 2.5 million dead money cap hit, with the bonus of being that the falcons save 12 million cap dollars...

I think its safe to say his career has reached the Back Up QB stage.

only problem is taller and stronger Cornerbacks are usually called Wide Receivers

The problem is that they've all been assessed as 2nd WR types, slight guys, slot guys. Johnston is the only one who's not, but he's not as polished. A DK Metcalf type.

So I get that there's a WR shortage in FA, but if these guys are not the types who have a chance of becoming All-Pros or Pro Bowlers, than you simply have to look at grabbing guys who will.

Hopefully, we won't be back picking at #14 for a long time.

There are a lot of tall strong CBs this year for some reason. Not sure why. Porter and Gonzalez are big. There are a few more. Even Witherspoon who is slight is over 6 feet.

Cam Smith, Deonte Banks, Eli Ricks, Emmanuel Forbes, that's 7 guys right there. Several are 6'2'. A couple of them are 210+

i haven't done any draft work... not that i do much to begin with... i think i read a few profiles on the draft network and walter football, that's about it... so thanks for the info, much appreciated

I don't get caught up to much in the draft either.. guys like sauce and Ramsey only come around one in a blue moon...

I see, well he'd definitely made a great living as. Back up QB.. they say it is one of best jobs to have in the NFL.. lol

Then I definitely think Myers should be looking to get something done to remain here.. I'm not going to fall into the allure of the cap room we have... because I know we will up grade the roster.. but I think we will be shopping at target rather than Sacs 5th Avenue..

My guess pertaining to Myers if it's regularly said then.... it must be true.. was Troy brown elite? He caught everything was reliable, and had great repore with Brady like Myers does with Mac. As far as Mac being a bad QB all I can say is I expect him to shut up alot of haters this season!

You don't necessarily have to be among the elite to be considered a viable and dependable option.. just means you a solid NFL player and valuable to your team.

D Slayton reminds me of Meyers on the Patriots very similar players.

Slayton is much, Much more explosive than Meyers... Heck he was the one who made Stidham into a draftable prospect... The Littles Billy & Nicky should've drafted him instead of our "pro-bowl"(snicker) Punter or Lord Byron the Coward.
