And why were they kicking inside the 10? Because of an awful tradeoff on the safety punt. Did not say the st were shameful overall, they were probably average today. It’s shameful for a team that devotes so much roster wise. Those moments with the game on the line we should have an advantage, not a disadvantage. Thats why bb stresses it when choosing his 53, we need to be better.

We are putting way too much on the defense with the offense being bad enough. When you get a safety you SHOULD NOT have to trot back out there with the other team near midfield. Inexcusable exchange there.
Not disagreeing with your post, just something I've been thinking about lately, is the two points/free kick after safeties punishment enough?

The 75 yard punt might have had something to do with that, they have a good punter

They were kicking inside the 10 because the OFFENSE didn't do S**T. Has nothing to do with the STs who fair caught it there because of an excellent kick and coverage.

The offense was also at fault, not denying that. I think you have the wrong exchange in mind. Im talking about the punt after the safety where myles returned to the 16 or so. Even if the offense goes 3 and out, the jets went from punting off their 20 to getting the ball back around midfield without. Thats a major failure by the st’s

Theres more that goes into it than the punter. You still have to cover the return. Their coverage completely overwhelmed our blocking, and these are usually situations where someone outkicks the coverage, but somehow we still couldn’t set up a half decent return.

At least no complaining about Mac today. When you see him next to Wilson, everyone thanks BB for the right 1st round QB pick.
It's only Mac & Trevor left from that draft. Zach, Trey & Justin are about out of the NFL.
Mac fought hard, played smart - even throwing it away in the rain when his old slow WR's were covered.
It was ugly, but he didn't make any bad mistakes.

Lol

Reminder: Josh Allen threw 3 INTS to this Jet D, and he has Stefon Diggs to throw to.

Mac didn't turn it over despite not much time to throw and Pharaoh Brown as his standout catcher.

Mac won, Allen lost.

People need to realise games are SITUATIONAL. You don't bomb it down the fairway if you have a 2 score lead on the road in a rain storm against Zach Wilson of all people. Sure it got closer than you want at the end, but you gotta be smart.

If we'd made that early FG & refs actually called the PI then we likely go into the half with a 20-3 lead. Just take the W and move on.

I am 13 years in here. And I am sure posters noticed I have always been one of the most positive people here. And I have a rep for targeting posters who have tried to make this place miserable

So when I call out some glaring problems maybe they are really there
I have no problem saying that there are glaring problems. We were down 0-2. We were down 3 CBs and had an Oline held together with duck tape. Our run game is iffy. Our pass blocking is iffy. Our receivers are iffy.

But you know what? I'm @#$%ing ecstatic we beat a tough defense in NJ, against refs who gift wrapped the TD for the Jets. That our guys didn't turn the ball over. And we've now beat the JETE 15 times in a row.

If some people only want to call out the glaring problems, go ahead, but you'll have to forgive me for enjoying this one.

That pleased me a surprising amount. I'd like to see Mac do that more when the play isn't there. He's had a habit of holding on too long and taking the sack.

5 points in the second half when Zach Wilson keeps giving you the ball back again and again and again.
What do you want me to tell you, they aren’t a good offense which I accurately predicted 13 points by them. Not sure why people were expecting a breakout game or something

Except he threw long on 3rd and short more than once. Floaters with little chance of completion.

I'm concerned about JuJu. Juju seems to only be capable of catching wide open crossing routes that any wr could do and nothing else.

Nice to win. But will not win many more playing like that.

Maybe call something besides draws on half of your plays might help. Say a little play action, maybe a slant route, something different.

You just know this is going to happen: With the second pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, the New York Jets select “Shedeur Sanders, QB Colorado”…. and the beat goes on……
