Post Game Thread Jets @ Pats....Christmas Eve Massacre

Perhaps I am asking for too much, but that would have been sweet to shut them out.

The outcome was actually sweeter as it stands. How much does the late field goal totally emasculate the entire Jets franchise? Seriously, that might be the weakest display of professional sport I've seen in years. As if they didn't learn from the earlier "let's call a time out with :46sec left in the half"; they double down on it by kicking a field goal from what the 11 yard line or some such down 41 with a couple minutes left.

Instead of going out fighting, they display their weakness full-on for the entire NFL world to see including their biggest cheerleader Mr Goodell. Fitting.

This game was won and lost before they even kicked off. The Pats were on a mission and the Jets never showed up.

None of the Jets players had anything to play for except Pride and there was little enough of that to be had. They clearly all believed the outcome of the game was certain, and were just going through the motions waiting for the game clock to run down.

Embarrassing for the NFL to sell tickets for a sham matchup. Anyone else notice how many of the Jets players got "injured"'with a pulled back or tweaked knee. Their entire OL is already on IR. They're playing their third string QB and even their #1 is terrible.

They weren't a legit opponent, they were like the sham team the Harlem Globetrotters travel with to be professionally humiliated. It was barely a football game. This was...nothing. The cotton ball in the aspirin bottle, or the sprig of parsley on the plate to keep it from looking too empty. The NFL was filling their contractual obligations to fill airtime for the TV Networks. The fans that sat in the rain deserve a refund.

Bilal Powell was the only guy that had any spark at all. Bowles didn't even bother to look frustrated--guy was smiling like it was a sunny day, and he'd just saved 10% on his car insurance.

Always great to get a win, I suppose, but what a joke. Hard to feel too good about beating a team that's just going through the motions. At least the win at Denver was for real.

Richardson and Williams showed up and had better performances than in the first game they played in NJ.

I won't say they were on fire but there was an effort or at least up until the turnovers piled up.

Thank you Pats for the awesome Christmas present.

Winning tickets to the game and then watching my team destroying the Jets was perhaps my greatest Christmas ever. Now, I am back in Quebec to enjoy the day with my family.

The long drive and standing in the rain was well worth it.

Your thinking the last couple of games maybe but over the season White has the second best catch rate behind only Bennett.

The types of passes that Hogan & Mitchell are assigned to catch are generally more difficult - and in some cases, much more difficult - than those that Jimmy is assigned to catch.

True. The one White dropped yesterday was an over the shoulder pass which is more difficult. The drop he had at Denver was an easier catch.

Honestly, where is David Johnson? I know he plays for Cardinals, but that season he has is > all others.
I know he doesnt play for a contender, but if he gets another 100 skirmish yards and a TD next game, he should run with it.

I agree 100%. He has the best season of any player in the NFL this year. He ist the only player i really wanted Bill to take in the draft and im disappointed he didn't.

I want to use all the positive ratings on this post at once Bless you Coach Bowles for finding a way to make the Jets look even more sad and foolish than I could have ever dreamed. That FG goes right next to the Buttfumble in the Jets Hall of Lame

Heh... Emasculated...
