Bottom line, if you can't keep the opponent out of the end zone with only 20 seconds left, you don't deserve to win. The Pats should still win the AFC East but will most likely not get a bye and will be playing one of the wild card teams, with a loss in either the Divisional or AFC Championship round most likely. A veteran team like this should not be making so many mistakes, the kind of mistakes you can't afford to make in the playoffs.
Pats probably will get the bye though

The insinuation that we are taking the loss personal is that we aren't capable of rationale thought.

You can br upset at what happened in the game, over the course of it and the end.

Without it affecting ones mental state.

No the issue is that people are going over the top with their emotional reaction to a sports event they watched on tv. Maybe do a few situps, shower cold or just go outside for a walk instead. Typing angrily on the keyboard just stirring up **** is just a kneejerk move.

I was under the impression that your claim was that “they’ve done it before,” meaning that they’ve gone to the SB without having the bye. Apologies if that wasn’t the debate.
Theyve had a bye and not gone to the SB was what I meant.

Texans have to go to Philly still, I don’t think it’s likely we lose to Steelers and Texans win out. No chance Bills or Jets beat us at home.

Better chance losing to the Jets or Bills than losing a game up by 5 with 7 seconds to go and the opponent at their own 31

It's always a daunting task, that's football, it wouldn't be fun if it was easy.
With the struggles they’ve had on the road and on defense specifically, it just seems to be a bit different this year, that’s all.

Despite this insanity, we’re somehow still the #2 seed.

Beat Pittsburgh next week, take care of business at home, and we’re still in good shape.

This sums up how I feel.

If the goal is to host Pittsburgh at home in the playoffs then all that matters is next week.

But the goal was to avoid KC in kc, at least that's how I viewed it

Anybody else wondering why they had Gronk in the game for a jump ball when the Dolphins were at their own 2o yard line? BB really thought Tannehill was going to launch it 80 f***ing yards?
My guess he is part for the hail mary team.. but you would think Belichick, being the great mind that he is, would have realized batting down a ball well short of the end zone has little value when even if the jump ball is caught, the receiver would be well short of scoring. Another speed defender might have made the difference.

Because they wont beat Kansas city on the road. Playing like they have on the road

And until that last play, they still had a chance to have that game at home.

Now it's gone because of a once in a lifetime play.

We weren’t gonna beat the a whole back too right

No way to spin to this.

Bad game management, bad play calling, bad defense and bad special teams.

Now reading that D. McCourty was off the field.

Massive failure by Belichick. They had timeouts remaining and could've taken one and talked through the play.

Sheesh.
Did they actually take out DMAC to put in Gronk? That is a huge coaching blunder.

Maybe.

But it should be OK to do either.

Lose in Pittsburgh next week and you're looking at the 4 seed.

Chargers in the first round then 2 road games, unless they finish 3-0 this team is cooked.

Even if they get the #2 seed, I'm not feeling particularly optimistic.

This team has shown zero ability to compete on the road. Assuming they meet KC in the AFCCG, is there any reason to suspect they'd put up much of a fight?

Always have a chance, I guess.

Only hope for that now is hoping that we win out, and KC somehow loses to both Chargers and Seattle.

Why put in any offensive player there?? That ball was not going to go to the EZ. Tannehill is too weak.

That's on Flores, not Belichick, imho. He's the one calling the Defensive plays. He was probably as surprised as anyone that Jones didn't get Stills down until after he lateraled the ball. That Jackson didn't get to Parker and that Van Noy and Jackson didn't get Drake down/out on the sideline though Jackson did have to jump out of the way of Van Noy so Van Noy wouldn't take him out..

The Ravens just almost beat KC at Arrowhead. The Raiders where playing them tough last week. I think you should check out and watch that alleged juggernaut that is the Chiefs and not make them up to some kind of boogieman in your mind.

If the offense plays one complete game the same way as they did in the first half they will score on anyone. If the defense plays as tight as for 29:53 minutes of the second half not many of the top teams will score more than 20-25 points on them.

And to beat them -- home or away -- we need both units to play well. If one of them ****s the bed it would not matter much where the game takes place.

People are still mad? Tough loss, crazy ending, on to Pittsburgh.

When

Yes. But it's ok to say how **** that was without being labeled anything other than fans who think it was bs
Dude (Dudette) it’s okay if you’re emotional. I was just making note of it.
