Open WRs make the OL look good.

Brady gets the ball off in 2.5 seconds when somebody is open.
Mediocre OL doesn’t give WRs time to get open.

Already saw Brady getting so gunshy he misses open receivers.

2.5 second release.

Brady has to hold the ball because jags like Gordon don't get open.

I think we trade for both. Hopefully OJ Howard at TE and Rashard Higgins.

Gordon is playing hurt. He’s not jag. Neither is Edelman. Who is also playing hurt. And where’s Dorsett? You got it, also hurt.

Used to be one of the antidotes for pass rush and inability to get open was screens, but this line can’t even execute a good screen. Also need to be able to mix rushing plays in to take pressure off the passing game, but again this line can’t execute well enough.

Thing is, your 2.5 second doesn’t matter if the opponents know that they can get to Brady, because they can have their DBs sell out to jam at the line and not worry about covering for very long. So far this O line is getting spanked so consistently that’s a winning strategy as far as opposing Ds are concerned.

Doesn't this depend on the health of Edelman, the health of Dorsett, the health of Gordon, the health of Harry, and Harry's ability to separate and run routes?
All of the above are banged up...hopefully Harry hamstring issue is resolved....OL has been biggest issue and is giving Tom no time....but WR have not been getting open as much ....even against crap secondarys.....they need a guy like Brown (which I know ain’t happen ) who can stretch it out and open up field for others.....Diggs isn’t going anywhere especially after last week....AJ Green has been injured...not sure who else they might be able to get...but current guys would have to restructure.....Brown would have been so good here....and money for the season would have been good if he played all year....what a waste

good post....it’s funny to me when people call Gordon a “jag”....the guy has been banged up all season....he’s definitely playing injured....if he were 100% healthy...would be much more explosive receiver

Gordon was not hurt for 6 games. He has been a big disappointment. Gordon does not get open. Dorsett just was injured and is another one who cant get open vs good defenses unless they screw up.

Edelman and White make the passing game work. You watch Brady and he moves the chains with those guys. Danny Almendola was a guy like that too. His nickname was 7 - 11.

Need a 3rd WR who can move the chains.

Explosive.

Now that is funny. 2013 is history.

I think that a trade for an OL is most likely.

1) We are carrying only 8 OL's.

2) Cunningham is on the roster.

3) Ferentz is on the roster.

4) Thuney is in his contract year.

5) Karras is in his contract year.

We are in the market for almost anything inside, both starters and backups. We also could use a swing OT if he is an upgrade to Newhouse.

He's gonna trade for a special teamer

Gordon spent the entire offseason in rehab. Dorsett has an obscene catch rate.

Also 7-11 was Hogan...

perhaps

If Bennett goes, that would be an OK choice. However, doing that does not affect the possibility of trading for offensive linemen.

Does bill ever do what we think he's going to do? He'll probably trade for a defensive back or d lineman
He may bring Chandler Jones back from Arizona for their fire sale

There is no fire sales in ARIZ. They are building for the future. Jones is part of that future. Besides, ARIZ has only lost 3 games, not terrible for a rookie QB with the quality of players on that team.

dumpster fire in the desert, major fire sale

One things for certain we can scratch Gordon this week also if active Watson I think will make our TE position visible. IMO Watson still have some left in the tank and is a Significant Up Grade to Ryan Izzo.
