Who will be or who do you want to be the next GM?

Ben Johnson as HC and his choice of GM or maybe poach someone from the Eagles or Ravens.

Worst case case Dimetroff returns and Vrabel is HC. Dimetroff built a really good team in ATL.

At this point, anything but what we have now.

If they gave me the job I’d bring the best talent evaluators here and the other Patriot forum in to gain consensus on a big draft board.

I can’t promise a 100% hit rate, but it would be better than Wolf’s .01% hit rate.

Have to wonder if anyone’s tried to crowdsource a coaching staff like this before. **** create a team and put it on twitter or find the Krafts emails and let them know. Shouldn’t be too hard.

Amusement potential aside…it could drive traffic here.

If BB couldn’t convince Jonathan that Mac Jones wasn’t good enough to draft in the first round… I doubt anyone could. Certainly not some fans online.

Jonathan envisions himself as the next Al Davis or Jerry Jones… Owner/GM, and that spells doom for us as fans.

This is true. His epic failure was giving lifetime contracts to washed up players, putting the Falcons in cap hell. Down here in Atlanta some of the blame for that is placed on Arthur Blank, who is a too sentimental for his own good.

My choice:

Brett Veach

No retreads, get a guy who has helped build a multiple championship team who has the catchet to fire Mayo and tell The Nebbish to focus on counting beans

Is this supposed to be a prediction or a desire poll? Because I don't think we're going to see a change in GM come Monday.
I personally agree - I think they’ll fire Mayo, hire Vrabel but keep Wolf. They’ll let Vrabel sort out who to cut/keep with coaches (Vrabel probably keeps Springer for instance). Wolf gets another year but Vrabel gets a large say in personnel matters and Highsmith also gets a bigger role. If things don’t go great again next year then a true GM is brought in and/or someone else is given “the final say”.

You left one off your list to select from. Jonathan Kraft he want to run the Patriots without his father and family's involvement. He has been interfering for a while now and doing a terrible job I might add.

Wolf’s title isn’t relevant. The NFL’s official term is “primary football executive,” and Wolf is the Patriots’ primary football executive. They can’t initiate a search for a new primary football executive unless they fire him or he agrees to a demotion.

Want: BaconGrundleCandy - knows more about PTP than anyone currently working at 1 Patriot Place.

Think will happen : Status Quo

Beach is already a GM in KC.

Are you saying a team can’t interview candidates without firing their guy first?
That doesn’t seem right. Why couldn’t they speak to potential replacements and keep Wolf if they dint find someone better willing to take the job?

OK but my thinking here is that in NE he would be the leader of the football organization, in KC my assumption (perhaps incorrect but for the sake of the discussion) he’s working under Andy Reid. Offer him lots of money and an opportunity to be “the guy” like KC offered to Pioli.

I like the relentless way he and they have gone about things, especially this past year with trades. In the draft he “pantsed” Wolf in both the 1st and 2nd round to snag Worthy (reportedly a Pats target) and then Sumataia (who actually played LT in college unlike Wallace whom the Pats picked a couple slots later to supposedly convert to LT). During the season while the Pats were combing the scrap heap for OL help, Veach signed Humphries who certainly has played LT better than the banged up Lowe.

Yeah I don’t think he’s leaving KC to laterally move here.
He is also under contract through 2029 so he cant come here

Again the idea is that it isn’t a lateral move. The contract thing can be negotiated if you are aggressive enough. I know it won’t happen anyway since the last time the Krafts were aggressive was when they hired BB, but that’s the guy I’d give the bag to if it were me making the moves.

Veatch is joined at the hip with Reid and under contract through 2029.
GM of the chiefs to gm of the patriots is a lateral move.
He wouldn’t wa t to leave a d if we tried to get him we would have to trade for him, and why would the chiefs want him to leave?

ABW -- Anyone But Wolf

(Actually, I voted Pioli -- still vigorous and with the heft to stand up to the establishment if necessary.)
