I wouldn't call it a scandal quite yet.

Our old buddy Shakespeare already wrote a couple of plays about this saga, if I remember correctly: Much Ado about Nothing, and its appropriately titled companion Comedy of Errors. I believe there may have been a follow up, too -- assuming the appeals process is successful -- All's Well That Ends Well.

Reportedly, old Bill (of the spear shaking variety, not our beloved football savant) also had keen foresight regarding the next CBA negotiations. He knew the challenges facing the NFLPA in their fight with commissioner Roger Goofball, which led to the composition of the instructional manual Taming of the Shrew.

I'm quite sure that's how it all unfolded in my English classes of yesteryear. My teacher would be so proud of my immaculate recall and nuanced grasp of this 100% historically accurate subject matter.
