I say they know they've lost this round and are doubling down on the appeal to the Circuit Court.

Please revise poll choices as follows. Then I can vote.

  • Not thinking at all.
  • Not thinking clearly.
  • Not capable of thinking.

This poll makes no sense because the "NFL" isn't a homogeneous entity. All 32 owners are not thinking the same thing. Some want to draw this out as long as possible. Some want to end this as soon as possible because of the way it is making them look. Some want to settle so as to not lose the power to dictate punishments. Some want to lose the ability to give out punishments so this is no longer an issue for the NFL. Some may be thinking something I haven't even thought of. Everyone always has an opinion and like most committees, no two opinions are exactly the same.

Whenever they see Kessler:

They see that the judge doesn't buy the report, so they are arguing that what the judge thinks of the report means nothing. All that matter is that the NFL believes Goodell has the right to suspend Brady per the CBA while the NFLPA is arguing that he broke the rules of the CBA multiple times, negating the punishment.

He's obviously talking about the NFL as in those representing the NFL in the punishment and court case.

I voted number 2 (my exact opinion of the NFL these days), but was looking for the choice that said "thinking" and "NFL" is an oxymoron...

Lulz at that idea that the NFL "thinks".

I say they know they've lost this round and are doubling down on the appeal to the Circuit Court.

They are in the federal circuit court already, so this would go to the US District Court for the Second Circuit.

The main question is appeal on what grounds? "Because we lost," is not a reason for the appellate court to hear an appeal. The appeal would have to be based on an error in the current proceedings, and so far Judge Berman has bent over backward to encourage a resolution between the parties of their own making, provided a superb professional mediator, and agreed to meet weekly with the two sides to nurture progress.

So, only two of think that the NFL will settle for a one-game suspension, making it clear that the commissioner needs to give no notice of punishment levels, and can invent them as he goes.

No vote.
The NFL knows they have lost. They are being cowards and making the Judge overturn it. That way they can blame the system instead of themselves.
