RLKAG.

I think it’s more « no one would win with this group ». And, really, who cares if he lost this room. Whom in the room is worth keeping ?

Quite a few guys. Most of the defense. On offense... Hard to figure out who's worth keeping as long as Mac is the QB.

Yeah, there's definitely been a bit of an issue. Things were good in 2021 but ever since Josh left and took a ton of the staff with him, it's felt like Bill's been stretched thin and putting coaches in places they're not fit for. Probably has caused issues with buy-in, and then pair that with a weak roster, which further diminishes the message getting through. If he were to leave and be able to put together a new staff elsewhere on a team that's already halfway decent who had a dumbass HC (Chargers if Staley gets canned?) he would probably be able to rack up some wins for a little while, get his record and retire after a few years.
Yeah, with the data we now have we can safely say 2021 was a “dead cat bounce”.

72-3 in two games. How could it not be the case?

Entering this week, Pats, Raiders and Saints were only team without scoring 20 points.

We are playing the Raiders next week.

Ok. So nobody could win with the team as it is, and who cares if he lost the room because everyone in the room sucks. Have I got that right? So if it's not the coach's fault then it must be the fault of the GM that put the team in the state it is. Fire him then.
I think they might need to. Despite my adoration of BB he’s been unsuccessful in acquiring game changers and has left the cupboard bare.

Even the greatest eventually decline and I fear it is what’s happened here.

Perhaps. I should’ve said « how many of the good players are great ? How many can change a game or get the big play ? »

Few.

The sad thing is that when you look at the moves in isolation, there aren't a very high percentage where you can say "That didn't make sense at the time." It's just that every recent move that didn't make sense, it seems, has now come back to haunt him this season. And some of the individual moves in combination were just terrible.

As an example of what I mean, trading Mason to start Onwenu is certainly justifiable. Even letting Karras walk and drafting Strange—who has generational athleticism for a guard—was defensible. The problem is that they did all those things and then turned the OL over to a nincompoop.

No, but I don't know if the same can be said about what Jones is dealing with. There's enough he's doing that is likely showing up on film that other guys probably aren't happy with, including potentially the guys in front of him.

His fundamentals didn't improve this week and that was the talk heading into this game. He'd get a pass if that part got better and he just got hit or didn't connect on a throw. Instead, he was still a mess and all the other stuff also happened. And it's the collective performance that is going to see guys start potentially turning on him.

And then if that happens and Bill tries to be Robert Saleh and hold that line and not make a change, then I definitely think there's that chance. I don't think we're there just yet, but this definitely just catapulted things a little closer to it.
I think it's 50/50. Lost faith in the QB probably looks and plays out on the field the same as lost faith in the coach.

they quit today. of course Bill the Coach lost the locker room. that's what happens when your team is bad and your "leader" is a washed up special teamer

at what point does bill the Coach and Bill the GM get to stop using "the players we have are not good enough" as a parachute when he get defenestrated from the light tower for being blown out 2 games in a row?

Bill Shopped for the Groceries. Bill cooked the meal.

The meal has been Garbage level for the last 2 years, which is making macs rookie season look like a mirage.

BB is not doing everything that he can to win.

When you keep Corky in the game last week and now this week, you have quit trying to win.

“Let Bill cook”

Meanwhile, Bill’s cooking…

I need to agree. While it’s true the players are underwhelming, as GM it was BB’s job to acquire them. It’s disappointing and I am surprising myself by adding my name to the fans wanting a change.

Too bad your boy Crappy Zappy sucks or he might get a chance to take Mac’s job…

Roll Coral out there and give you your old job back washing and ironing the Pats players jockstraps.

I bet crappy zappy smurf throws his and hits the players head in front of him before it hits the laundry bag. It’s tough being 4’10” and pretending to be a QB in this league in more ways than one!

I don’t agree with calling Zappe “crappy” but his addition into the game, and his subsequent struggles, also just emphasizes how devoid of talent they are on offense. It also didn’t help that Douglas went down, and there’s literally no one other than Bourne who could be considered their version of “explosive.”

I don’t think starting Zappe is going to do much other than maybe have them win a couple of games against lesser talent if they manage to figure anything out, but I’m not currently high on Mac right now, either. Not to mention, not a lot of teams left on the schedule who fall into that “lesser talent” category as reality just punched them in the face in a big way and they don’t really have the horses to answer.

And with the offensive line being as bad as it is, they’re hosed no matter who they put back there. The people calling for Malik Cunningham don’t realize that to play that style for 60 minutes requires an insane amount of improvising, which I only know of one other QB who can do that consistently and he’s in Kansas City. That’s just too big of an ask with a group this porous.

Mike Reiss said two weeks ago he thought they were in trouble and he’s definitely right. And I don’t see a solution through this with so many games still left to play.

Probably going to be a bumpy ride.

Yeah was just thinking about Reiss’s comments actually. I don’t think many of us saw this mess coming.

Barring injury starting Zappe now would accomplish the same thing as playing Stidham in 2020. Does nothing for the team this year or in the future. He’s not long for the roster either way.
