Polk instead Kingsley Suamataia?

Lowe is doing ok. We might have got a bit of luck . Let's see how he progresses. Need patience.
What game were you watching?

They are a RB/TE offense, which is a little funny because they have a bare minimum on the roster for both.

They don't throw to WR's

Claiming that Polk “isnt doing anything” because he isn’t getting the ball is like claiming that Suamataia is doing a great job just because his QB isn’t getting sacked on every snap. Obviously the other guys on the field contribute to that player’s end result on a stat sheet, both positively and negatively.

Sumateia was so bad against Cincy, he got benched.

more than maye development we need to develop pop, polk, baker and possibly jaheim bell. i think in the quest to protect maye we are stunting growth of the WR corps.

i feel we need to throw results of this season out of the window and look to address getting all our rooks considerable match practice and growth. jacoby might help us stay in the game but he is causing irreparable harm for WR corps.

Left tackle Kingsley Suamataia: Many of the Chiefs’ tackles have struggled with the Bengals’ defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson — and now, the rookie starter understands why this is so. He was to blame for a handful of key pressures, two sacks and a holding penalty that erased am enormous 51-yard play by tight end Travis Kelce. On the ensuing third-and-20, Suamataia took a seat as Morris came in. The coaches will have plenty of places bookmarked for the rookie to study on film — but it won’t be all on him. Hendrickson gave Morris fits in clean-up duty, too — and there were also a few missed chips that left the starting left tackle without help. But it certainly isn’t going to a confidence-builder for the former BYU tackle.

Has to get the ****ing ball thrown to him to do anything
That’s a fair assent. 3 catches and a TD on 4 targets. Throw the ball to him twice a game you’re not going to be putting up silly numbers

Rookies get benched, learn, hopefully improve and come back stronger. Cole Strange got benched in a game midseason, came back and played dominant football for the second half of his rookie season. Onwenu got benched his sophomore season and came back stronger. It's not just linemen, rookie Deebo Samuel got benched, improved and played better the remainder of the year.

You're comparing a rookie left tackle who earned the starting job for a two time champion going against an All Pro DE, versus Wallace who isn't even starting on a team desperate for offensive tackle help with nobody in front of him... or Robinson who is only starting due to injury and because there is nobody else.

Wallace and Robinson have some upside, they might turn into good players after another year in the strength and conditioning program. Demontry Jacobs also needed to get stronger as a rookie, hopefully he develops as well.

Lowe stinks... he's also not a rookie, but in year three. Good grief...

He has to get open to get the ball thrown to him.
And be wide open by 8 feet because Jacoby can't throw into tight windows.
The fact is, T, that not many NFL players CAN consistently and successfully throw into tight windows. We got to see one of those guys for 20 years. But it takes a LOT of experience and confidence to do it, and THAT takes time. Time and knowledge to be able to know WHEN to take that risk. Knowledge of where the defense is when you release that pass, and the accuracy and being familiar with your receiving corps.

Brady had a full YEAR+ on the bench and the time to become familiar with the offense and his receivers, but it took him another 4 or 5 years after that, before he could comfortably say he "knew all the answers to the test". You cannot ask a raw rookie QB to throw into "tight windows" when his FIRST responsibility is "do not turn the ball over". That is the meme he will hear from his coaches and teammates for this year AT LEAST.

We ALL knew that Maye was a work in progress when we made that pick. But we were all thrilled about it, because we could see the arm, accuracy, and athleticism that was only confirmed during preseason games when he would flash in a play that made you think, "we really got something here"; You cannot compare him to Nix, McDaniels and Williams for a lot of reasons, but mostly because these guys have 2-3 more years of being in college and experience. But we all see that when Drake is 24 he will have surpassed them all, assuming he is as hard a worker as he seems to be and has the drive and competitiveness to CONSTANTLY work to improve himself year to year.

The best way to do that, T, is to let him sit and get those practice and scout team reps, until he is ready to at least survive and compete when his turn comes.
