the part which is infuriating is , we blew the raiders game with 90s to go. we blew it yesterday again with 60s to go and yet we have to count on this team to win a must win game ....again.

Appears the final WC spot will go to NE or Miami.

Miami is in with a win next week. NE is eliminated in this scenario.

NE is in if they sweep the remaining games. Miami would be likely out.

Chargers have three very bad teams to finish up. Cin or Bal already get the other spot.

Somehow the Jets could still get in if they win out and Miami were to lose out. Unlikely.

Lol, very true...also don't forget the Packer game which we should have won. We are very, very close. I like the resiliency we showed yesterday in the 2nd half. We are due to win one of these games. So close!!!!!!

So all we need to do is beat Miami and Buffalo so we can get absolutely demolished in the first round and lose a few spots in the draft? Sign me up.
To be fair, if we beat Miami and Buffalo the next two weeks, both teams having a lot to play for, it’s not inconceivable we could win a game in the playoffs.

Patriots are getting in at 8-9 or they're not getting in at all.

This team is a zombie that just won’t die. As fans we know this team isn’t good. Every time I think the Pats playoff hopes will be put out of their misery somehow we remain alive.

I can’t decide what the most infuriating option to end the season would be:

1. Beating Miami next week to keep playoff hopes alive then losing to the Bills back ups week 17
2. Losing to Miami to get eliminated from the playoffs then beating Buffalo costing the Pats like 5 spots in the draft.

The most likely scenario is two losses but that’s probably not painful enough for the fans so I expect one of the two options above.

Buffalo will have nothing to play for if they beat Cincinnati and KC somehow loses to Den at home. Buffalo is guaranteed the 1. If NE goes into that game having already beat Miami, a question arises. Would Buffalo intentionally lose to NE, so they get NE into the tournament over Miami?

I believe NE wins the tiebreaker over Miami if both are 9-8.

But yes, if NE beat Miami & Buffalo with all starters involved, why couldn't they beat whoemer the 2 seed is? There is a scenario where NE/Buf have a rematch in Buffalo on WC weekend too.

It would be pretty wild if NE beat a full lineup of Bills starters in two straight weeks. On the road.

Not only the Steelers, but the jags are a strong possibility to get in as well..
I believe Jags get in only by winning the division. Ditto Titans. Thought I read somewhere that second place finisher in that division is done.

Agreed, however I'd like to add the OFFENSE isn't good as we well know that's what holds this team back from being a real contender.. on your scenarios both could be true! Either one can happen, however how this seasons gone scenario #2 would be likely.. we look the the replacements on offense.

Lol no worries. It's not gonna happen.. Only way it would is if the bills had nothing to play for. I think we lose the next 2 but definitely losing to buffalo.

Staying alive is easy when everyone else is losing too. Basically nothing changes. Eventually the regular season will end, possibly with a 8-9 team getting in the playoffs. That team however is going to get smoked by KAN, BUF or CIN in the wild card.

Yes, that's right. It's even more telling about us and our season that the jags are looking at a berth.

Maybe KC or BUF, not CIN. We nearly beat them, they are not smoking anyone.

I think Buffalo would go for the win and revel in keeping the Pats out of the playoffs. I’m sure a bunch of people within that organization still remember how the Pats used to dominate them every single year and wouldn’t mind screwing with NE, but I can see both arguments.

Pats have to beat Miami first though and I don’t think that happens.
