While I understand how easily impressed people are with Floyd's physical skills, I think many are underestimating Mitchell quite a bit, and forgetting one of Bill's mantras: Dependability is more important than ability (see "Collins"). Once Mitchell returns to health, I expect him in the line-up. If he is, after JE11, Hogan, Mitchell and Amendola, there are not a lot of snaps left to justify a roster spot for Floyd (assuming no STs).

I think people are forgetting how much of a force Floyd is as a blocker in the run game. He could somewhat fill in for Gronk in some of those patented chameleon sets that forces mismatches based on how opponents counter it.

I am pretty confident that Floyd will find his niche on the roster even with Mitchell and Dola back. What usually happens in the playoffs is that more of the starters show up on ST which might open up a roster spot to have all our WRs active.

Reiss covers it well here. The question is which player will be inactive for Floyd.

Bank on Floyd active. Especially with Mitchell and DA coming off injury and only one quality TE on the roster.

I don't think they paid $1.5 million for Floyd so he could watch the playoffs from the easy chair in his living room. Floyd is going to be active.

Easy to say this
The tougher question is who are your inactives? Only 6 are clear.

I think Mitchell will be inactive at least for divisional round.
Edit: I am not sure what the extend of his injury is but it seems to be bothering him quite a bit. Better rest him now. With Michael Floyd getting used to the offense it would be best if Mitchell is given time to heal and brought for AFCCG or SB.

Well he already listed 6: Brissett, Waddle, Foster, Coleman, Cy Jones, Richards.
Then you still have Karras, Grissom, Lengel, even Bolden to choose from, depending on opponent.
Plenty to choose from to field the most productive team.

I have a feeling that they might test Danny and wait with Mitchell the first game.
He showed once already that he can plug in pretty quickly after injury break.
If all WRs are healthy I would expect all 5 in the lineup for AFCCG.

The answer is quite simple. Floyd is a big, tough blocker for a WR.

Amendola and Mitchell are coming off of injuries.

We already have Develin and Cam Fleming as guys who can play blocking TE.

Move Lengel to PS.

I would be very surprised if Lengel were inactive (nevermind waived to try to get him to the PS). He is the only backup for Bennett. Develin and Fleming do not fit the role. He is big and he can run. Also plays 3 STs. I think he is more valuable than some here.

Lengel's been getting touches and doing alright. It seems they want him integrated into the O. He'll be active.

BB a hell of a leader, wonder how'd he do as a general, CEO, and president

General George Washington, CEO Steve Jobs, and President Abe Lincoln rolled up into one slightly media-irritable but brilliant no-nonsense package

Damn guys i get it!

was on phone, supposed to say "confidence"

i would edit it, but not after how many people commented on it lol

After someone the other day dropped that gem of "sinecure," I was genuinely hoping to learn something new!

Ugh. Disappointed in Richards and Grissom. Not really contributing much with my comment, but every time I see those names it pisses me off.

Luck of the draw and all of that. It's just part of the crapshoot that is the draft.

I thought it might be some new drug.

Going in with 4 corners in a game is quite risky. Especially considering one of them is a core ST player.

Floyd or Mitchell will be inactive. It's a toss up.

His presence on 3 ST unit is most probably a good reason for him to stay active but I still think that ultimately the inactive for the AFCCG and SB will come out of the ranks of ST (Grissom ?). For the divisional game we might really give Mitchell another week to get better.

With too many WR options what's the rush anyway ?
