Pick 2, 3 or 4

HARD pass on Fields.

Just curious why. He's shown improvement and might not be getting the best coaching in Chicago.

Why on Earth would we give up pick 35?

In case you haven't noticed, the pats are already in position to get. QB.
So, your attitude is to take QB2 or QB3 whoever he is?

I think that it is reasonable value for the right for the patriots to take THEIR CHOICE for their franchice QB, instead aof allowing 2 other teams to make the choice for us.

The open question is who much we would have to give up to be able to make the choice. Of course, if truly don't care, then fine.

I think we should just take the best available QB at 3.
To be clear, what this means to me is that you have zero trust in your scouts or those evaluating talent. Is it just possible that one of the three quarterbacks is preferred by the patriots enough to give up a pick to make our own choice instead of getting leftovers.

I agree. Fields for 2 years for a 2nd is a huge value and very likely to be a better choice than we be able to get in free agency or for trade during free agency.

I wonder if the plan is to bring back Josh McDaniel as OC.

He was at the game today…

We could do a lot worse than Josh to develop a young QB.
He doesn’t even need to be OC. He makes the same money (HC salary from the Raiders) no matter what position he has, so just make him WR coach or assistant QBs or something.

I think that if it's QB 3 you trade down. If it's Maye you take him.

Nothing wrong with grabbing Harrison now and a QB next year.

People are wild if they think this isn't a 5 win team next year because it most certainly looks like it will be with a rebuild top to bottom.

If they end up with either Caleb Williams or Justin Fields, that will be the optimal result. With Fields you'd actually pick up an extra pick with a trade down.

Much rather see Fields here than Maye or Daniels.
Wait.

Are you saying you would rather have Fields as QB in NE over Maye or Daniels?

And what do you think it would cost NEP?

Why would we even do that? Make Chicago pick Harrison 1 overall and we get Maye at 3.

There's no reason to give up a first and a second to move up two spots to grab Caleb williams. That's insanity.

But the QB class sucks next year.

Not taking Daniels could mean waiting another few years to get a decent guy

MHJ is a generational talent. But it shouldn't offset the fact NE needs a franchise guy to actually get him the ball.

Fields my ass, guy is a bust who is in a 5 or 6 game hot streak and you're all falling in love with him, there's 3 years of data showing he is a very irregular QB.

I hope Chicago does what they always do (a mistake) and keep him

If a QB who can break out a run is the call for the moment then take Daniel's

It depends on how much they want Harrison. If They trade for the #3 and we pick QB, then either WAS drafts a QB and CHI still gets Harrison OR CHI has our pick plus whatever they can get for the #3 pick from someone wanting on of the top QB's.
===========
Of oourse, another team might give them a package top picks for the #1, or much more value than Harrison.

PLAN
Start Fields and allow the #1 pick to sit until he is ready to play. Then have Fields as a backup for the rest of the year and for 2025.

You think that this is a mistake and that they should be forced to start their draftee and have no backup capable of starting.

My opinion? If you don't think there is a huge gap between Maye/JD, take JD at the 3 spot. Don't waste time moving up.

If the front office wants Maye or Williams, they need to prepare to depart with two first rounders and maybe a guy like Gonzalez too.

You're talking about a QB most people have at 3 best prospect of the draft.

I didn't sit through a year like this to come away with the third best QB.

**** that

By keep him I'm saying Chicago don't take a QB with the #1 and draft MHJ

Getting to that 1st OA spot will be costly.

But it could set the team up for 15 years if they get it right. Is there any analysts that have suggested Williams could bust? I thought he was bust proof like Manning & Elway.

I don't see a scenario where Chicago picks MHJ at one. They either trade the pick for a haul or take Williams imo.

If the Bears draft MHJ, the Patriots get Maye at minimum.

Mini QBs are such ass.

Even Mac is too small.

6 foot 4 or better.
