He can’t create separation with his slight build against press coverage. Everyone knew that even if they were intrigued by his straight line speed. Those legs are not NFL legs.

So he was supposed to be a third or fourth round pick according to nfl.com’s Lance Zierlein. And that’s just on his speed.

Check out the Cheetah running a 60 metre dash recently. He is slight too by NFL standards but he looks like Lou Ferrigno compared to this skinny creature. Look at Tyreek Hill’s legs. That’s the way a professional athlete’s legs should look at the WR position.

Ken is correct. A 500 yard, three TD season is the ceiling for this second round bust.

Was that staged? because those other guys look like they don't belong on a track.

If you think skinny guys can't be successful as NFL receivers, take a look at Devonta Smith.

Little Billy Notgoat thinks this ****ing non-agile ****ing toothpick is gonna be Meyers' replacement.

Have you watched his tape? His speed forces dbs to commit and with one step he can leave them in the dust, 3 cone speed isn't necessary
his preseason performance was impressive, lots of short area quickness and good route running. It looked like he was ready to contribute but then got hurt.

The difference between Tyreek Hill and Thornton might as well be night vs day. Hill has a studly physique. Twiggy Thornton looks like he might break in half in a stiff breeze.

They need to keep him off special teams and just let him be like Deion Branch. Branch was the master of making the catch and immediately getting down and being aware of his own self-preservation.

Thornton was done dirty last year. Hope he shows up this year. The guy is very fast and can be the patriots explosive number 1. The fact that so many are writing him off is baffling
We had a lot of speed in the house, and yes that included Thornton. Maybe the theory is the track team just can't get started with the whiny QB dialed in on his security blanket guy (Meyers). Staying tuned for TyQuantum Leap 2023.

I saw a photo of tiny little scat back slot receiver Josh Downs from UNC, and despite weighing only 172 pounds, his legs look like football player’s not some guy named Slim working at the Papa John’s drive through.

But then came back. Doncha remember that?

Your "Adonis" Tyreek Hill is 4-foot-6.

No, I feel like he's potentially planning on making Bourne Meyers' replacement.
Really ironic given last season's soap opera about "where's Bourne." He's still on the payroll, Meyers' deal ran out, the market for him outperformed what we expected or we knew we weren't going to choose to reward reliability. I don't think it's "replace Meyers with Bourne," I think we've still got Bourne, we don't have Meyers. Juju sort of replaces him "plus" with only a minor "plus" there most likely... but maybe more.

But you're right, Tyquanderoga is anything but a Meyers replacement... opposite ends of the speed spectrum, and unfortunately, Ty had nowhere near Meyers' route discipline. (But Meyers doesn't have to account for relativistic effects.)

"Tyquanderoga"...jeezus krist...THIS is worse than anything Kathy Griffin has ever thought up...gotta sharpen this pencil neck's game up...drastically...

You’re dreaming. The skinny kid looks every bit the second round bust we’ve come to know all too well as Patriots fans.

It’s not as if he didn’t have his chances—and make the least of them.
You want to say Thornton had no chance but he had 527 snaps (66%) with 45 targets of which he could only convert 48.9%. By comparison, Bourne had much fewer snaps with 441 (only 44%), and a similar number of targets with 48, but he hauled in 72.9% of those. Same offense, same OC, same QBs.
Being too skinny and a curious lack of lateral movement, which was evident in his pedestrian three-cone time, mean he will NEVER be a WR1.

That’s why he will see press corner coverage. Once in a while he will break free, whether it is a delayed double move or a mistake in the secondary. Other than that, don’t expect much production from BoneyT.
