Moss is a wild card at this point.
He's not going to get much money, and he'll never get a big contract. There is literally no incentive for him to be on his best behavior moneywise.
The only thing left for him is to improve his legacy and go out on a good note. I'm not sure that's enough of an incentive. I don't think it is. Given that he turned down the Patriots' earlier offer, he may still be deluding himself.
As the years go by, he may think back on his 2010 season and how his career ended, and then he might consider how in the summer of 2011, he turned down a 1 year offer from the Patriots.
He'll have a lot of regrets.
I admit to having a very hard time over how the Patriots WR situation has been handled since 2006. Grabbing Welker and Moss has been great, but the whole Branch thing--awful! Especially when you consider that the Branch pick brought in Meriweather. Given the waste of money over the years for players like Duane Starks, etc., I start to see the benefit of giving the Deion Branch's the $7 million they request.
And they were bounced in their 1st play-off game, so before we start saying that the Pats were great and everything without him, their season was a failure. IF he's ready to come back and do the things we need, them I'm for it. If he's going to jog through routes on plays that the ball isn't going to him, forget it. He's only 3 seasons removed from being unguardable and was a top 5 WR in the NFL in the next 2.
... Moss has lost Brady's trust on the field. He is done.
Now if he could only regenerate his skiils we'd be all set.Said it before, say it again. I'm all for Randy Moss coming back. Seems like he's ate a slice of humble pie and just wants back in.

See, I just dont agree. Moss' game was based on him being a physical freak, and with a decline in that ability he becomes less than mediocre.I really don't know if he lost his skills that quickly. That's what they thought in Oakland. I really think he just completely shut down mentally (like he did in Oakland), with the only difference being instead of waking up on the Pats he suddenly found himself Minnesota and completely imploded from there.
I don't want him back but there are worse players to have on a shadow roster than Randy Moss.
Moss still averaged a TD a game the last time he suited up as a starter for the Pats.See, I just dont agree. Moss' game was based on him being a physical freak, and with a decline in that ability he becomes less than mediocre.
Clearly he is an incomplete WR who will not go over the middle and shrinks from being hit.
His acceleration and ability to make a play on a ball in the air, separated him. Without those, what do you have? A guy who runs deep, gets covered and wants the ball.
The Jet game last year CLEARLY indicated to me that either Moss gave up, or Moss wasn't the same Moss anymore. For the first time I ever remember he was flat out outrun to a deep ball by Cromartie and Cromartie was gaining on him. On the other Int on the back shoulder throw Moss looked like a ballet dancer weakly reaching one arm at the ball instead of going after it.
After that game my first impression was Brady played poorly.
When I went back I realized that Brady actually played well, throwing to a single covered Moss in what should have been a total mismatch, but it wasn't any more. I was uncertain whether that was Moss just not trying or Moss being unable to do what he had done in the past.
What happened after he left here answered that question to me, and it wasnt that he didnt care to earn another contract. When you look back its clear the decline started in 2009 also.
I feel like Moss would be a legitimate threat in the Red Zone but little more than that.
Moss does play deep safety very well. Lets get him!
Actually that is untrue, he had 3 in 4 games.Moss still averaged a TD a game the last time he suited up as a starter for the Pats.
If one values scoring TD's as being productive then Moss still was a very productive player at the time he was jettisoned off the Pats roster.
I would strongly argue that attitude, not lack of production, was what caused Moss's termination as a Pats player.
But the 4th he wasn't given starter reps as I stated.Actually that is untrue, he had 3 in 4 games.
He also had a grand total of 4 receptions in his last 3 games as a Pat.
Hard to call that productive.
Of course he went on to catch 19 more in 12 games after leaving, also not very productive.
Can he deliver ice cold Gatoraid to the players fast enough so they don't get dehydrated?
If so,then I want him back,we need a quick guy for refreshments...
if he wants something else such as playing WR,something that he can no longer do effectively or consistently?...then no

He then will throw a tantrum about opposing QB's not throwing his way...
