I get your reasoning.
I just don't see the sense of signing Diggs AND Lockett, when neither of them will be here when the team starts to actually get good. Get one to bolster the roster, sure ,but neither of them are long-term solutions.
The goal is for the team to be good this year.

Cap space we had that cap to go 6 or 7 million more a year on top O line talent.
Even if it’s no A level if we have to overpay to protect Drake so be it.
WRs, I would have traded for Metcalf, roll the dice he buys in too much talent not to take the risk.
I would offer number 4 to Detroit for Jameson Williams and a second or third.
Or take that same offer to the Dolphins for Waddle,
Or Eagles for AJ Brown.
Or I would offer the second or third rounder for Michael Pittman, or Jaylen Reed.
Or trade 4 outright to the Jets for Garret Wilson.

Absolute stupidity.

Me... me... me?? Rookie of the Year who makes people in wheelchairs stand up Javon Baker.
You know I don't think he was lying about that. Just think of what their reaction will be if he catches a ball next year!

Correct they are not long term solutions.

But having mediocre weapons is better than putting nothing out there for Maye to throw to. He still needs pass protection and receiving options so he doesn't have a regression year.

It looks like the Patriots are banking heavily on the draft for LT/WR. They desperately need to hit on the correct guys this time around. Last year's draft was poor outside of the no-brainer pick of Maye.

His quickness is not what it used to be.

He is a good high character guy so if his contract demands are not super high, he could be a good influence for the younger players already here.
And honestly if they bring him in that’s all I’m hoping for. He’s intelligent. He’s had a solid career. He’s not going to be a star but he still shouldn’t be a liability. Not a piece towards building towards the playoffs but hopefully a piece that aids in the development of your QB

Biggest problem with patriots front office. When they miss out on a quality wide receiver, they simply settle for lesser talent
Double R.. give em a break.. they traded for me before.

Ugh please no……we need to stop being the last stop for these older WR who haven’t got alot left and come here…..and do nothing!….

Until the team is willing to pay a premium for one or draft one high they will always be in this position.

People have an affinity for Kraft. They view him as the savior if the franchise because they feel without him it would have moved.
I don’t live in the community, I did when I was a kid, but haven’t since and live 3 hours away.
To me if the Patriots were in Foxboro or another city, it wouldn’t make much of a difference to me, but I can see people who live in the community feeling they owe something to Kraft, liking him, and wanting to defend him.
Defending Kraft is fine. But @patfanken repeatedly crosses the line of insulting other posters who do not agree with his beliefs. Ken has more than once expressed his intolerance for anyone who disagrees with him, even going so far to describe those who do not agree with him with racist slurs. Very disgusting posts.

It all goes to **** when people start posting about posters instead of about football.

I agree. But if no-one says anything when posters start complaining about other posters, and it keeps getting worse. So it is a never ending loop. No-one says anything to Ken, so he keeps doing it. What makes it stop?

Kinda disappointed this wasnt from Dakota from Braintree or Grilled Frommage, but this could be some good news. So far I’m impressed with how they’ve done things. Don’t get the feeling anyone was sitting on their hands or throwing **** at a wall and hoping it sticks then turns to gold like last year. I think we are set for the IOL just need some OTs….

I'd be super excited if he catches 50... it'll be a shock.

How did Kraft show he was "cheap again". God I'm getting so tired of that little meme that has turned from a comment into the truth just because it's been randomly repeated so often without comment.

Was he cheap when he came up with $187MM to buy the Patriots and was then ridiculed for paying so much. And it was only because of him that we didn't have to fight for some expanchise team in the early 2000's and seeing the Pats playing in St. Louis. Or maybe he was cheap when he paid for that new stadium with money AGAIN out of his own pocket and all the hundreds of millions in upgrades without asking for anything out YOUR pocketbooks, like every other NFL own has done since. Maybe get a little get a little thank you there. Or how about all the other things he did for the franchise like being the first to have their own planes. One of the first to have their own nutritionist. When they need a hill for practice....there was a hill and so many others.

Labeled forever because they couldn't figure out how to pay Tom Brady $25MM for 2 years. None of the yahoos have ever explained to me how the Pats who played the 2021 season with no cap space paying Cam $1MM were supposed to pay Tom $25 for the next 2 years. How many players would have had to be let go to keep Tom (assuming Tom ultimately wanted to stay with an aging crumbling roster)

OK sorry for the rant. The Krafts have done more for the Pats and the NE community and local charities than any other pro franchise in the area. So much stuff with so little fan fair and there are a few who really treat them like dirt. It's fine to criticize decisions thy made. I certainly haven't liked all of them, but this stoops personally and dare I say anti-sematic

Hey the BIG LIE is for real folks. If your balls are big enough, and you say it often enough and consistently enough a significant amount of people will start to believe it. Moderator please feel free to edit or delete this if you think I went over the line
Minor quibble ken just to be fair to the keep Brady no matter what crowd, who i disagree with but technically they arent wrong. Its ALWAYS possible to keep a player and create Cap space, its just a question of how many void years you wamt to attach and how big you want the can youre kicking down the road to be. If the patriots had 100% believed in Brady as a god that was going to destroy all previous examples of QBs aging they could have given him a 5 year deal, restructured some others and signed a high price #1 WR as long as they were willing to have 80 mil in dead money 2 years later. Again at the time i didn't agree with that approach but with hindsight would it have been worth it for 2 more years of Brady? *shrug* its a discussion.

Make me GM for a day, we will have. Franchise LT 4 good WRs and a crying Kraft, I’ll spend the cap, trade future resources, move players a year too early as opposed to a year too late.

I wouldn’t leave Patriots place.
It would be exciting times, and at times maddening, when I wake up like you know we don’t really need a third in 2027 but we could use a really good third tight end.
Agreed LTD.. but one thing is we have never spent to the cap.. like you my man.. I so badly want us to fill those glaring needs. What I've come to the realization is Vrabel is making thought out calculated moves.. we are probably drafting Membou if Hunter is gone at 4.

Lowe is going to have all the opportunities in mini-camp and training camp to show he can play LT possibly a starting role or back up. Polk and baker have been taken aside and supported by Vrabel. They will too have an opportunity to develop in real coaching and opportunities.

We are likely trading for a WR.. ayuik and I still wouldn't rule out AJ Brown either. Expect to see a dominant defense, top notch coaching and development of players. On offense Expect to see timing, professionalism, fluid fluidness, drives sustained. It's been 5 years of rebuilding.
