Pro tip: Disagreeing with someone is not necessarily the same as being disagreeable.
Not saying "Collins Sucks" at all - just presenting this FYI :
Collins has played 1,109 snaps and missed 387 snaps in the regular season since the 2015 opener. There was virtually no difference in the opposing quarterbacks' Total QBR scores when Collins was on the field (53.8) compared with when he was off it (54.6). The Patriots' opponents actually fared better with Collins on the field across a range of categories: yards per play, yards per rush, yards per pass attempt and third-down conversion rate.
Why Collins trade makes sense for Patriots
I expect us to once again hold our breaths with this defense and hope the offense can execute come the playoffs. What else's new.
"I only want to talk about players on our team"
Well clearly Bill thought the defense wasn't performing up to his standards, despite what our many armchair coaches on this board have said.
Collins was a playmaker, but wildly inconsistent.....he makes some astounding physical plays, but then get completely embarrassed by the owen danielses of the world
Yes, they decided that three cheap seasons of Rowe are worth more than half a season of Collins. I don't see anything wrong with that.Y'all realize that most likely the Pats will send a higher draft pick to the Eagles for Eric Rowe, than they will get from Cleveland for Jaime Collins......
Think about that for a second....
No, but I believe there were a few who very content with the defense and refused to acknowledge there were areas that could have been improved on. The defense has played well but Bill doesn't seem to be content with that.Is there a long list of people who actually said that the defense was performing at peak efficiency and its highest level?
I seriously think you're failing to take into account how much deeper the offense is in terms of receiving weapons this year. For example, Bennett has 31 catches. What did our second TE average over the past three years? There are four viable WR options, 2 viable TE options and at least one viable RB option for catching the ball. I think its much more about Brady having more options and not having to go to JE every single time he needs a play than it is JE underperforming.ok, I'll admit, I'm frustrated and more irritable than usual
You have to admit thought that you kind of had it coming with that comment though. After all, you are the one trying to make the case that someone who was averaging 105 rec, 1,115 yards, and 7 TDs over the past three seasons* is not underperforming by using projected season stats as your support that have him ending up with 82 catches, 716 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
With someone trying to make that argument I think it’s natural to lead someone to believe that the person is disagreeable overall and not just disagreeing on this point. Sure, I could be wrong, but hopefully you see where I’m coming from.
We're all Pats fans and the reality is that our team was better yesterday than it was today. Was Collins such a malcontent that it forced BB's hand? That very well could be the case but it's still a shame that things escalated to the point where the Pats coaches and Collins could no longer co-exist.
*Figures calculated using taking his 39 game total over the three seasons, getting the per game average, and expanding to 16 games.

No Joe Thomas or Joe Haden?
