Small sample size, but pretty excited in regards to potential & matchup mismatches.

  • According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the 49ers, Jets, and Cardinals were among the teams who showed “preliminary interest” in Patriots recently acquired WR Phillip Dorsett when he initially being placed on the trade block.

He should be uncertain. At the NFL level he was at Cyrus Jones level
So a like for like replacement?

Makes sense to me. Give the kid opportunities, see what he does with them.

0 trades in 16 years with the dolts with Polian and Grigson as GM
2 trades in 6 months with them with Ballard as GM

Sure spending 24 mill on back up is nuts, but what other choices do they have? Are you ok going into next season with a rookie QB or vet as back up picking up this system in less than a year?

No I wouldn't franchise him at 28 Mill in 2019, but what's to say Brady doesn't retire in the next 2 years?

Brisset wasn't what they were looking for, OK.

The window is closing pretty fast to find a future qb if it isn't JG.
Brisset was not going to be the guy. The fact that the fans now know this hasn't changed anything.
I assume next years backup will probably spend this year on the ps.

I'm fine trading Brissett. I trust Belichick and it's not like we have a reason to root for an unproven player. No one lost any sleep over trading Cassell or Mallet. It's not like Patsfans had any reason to root for Brisset any more than other former backups.

But I wish him the best! Seemed like a mature young man

People who don't like the move Dorsett

Pagano, Luck and Chudzinski or Belichick, Brady and McDaniels ?

Because essentially you are saying that the latter has no chance to get something better out of him than the former which maybe they can't but to say that before he's even played a snap is dumb

And Lombardi.

Which one is different?

Gronk 66% catch rate @ 38 targets
Hogan 66% catch rate @ 58 targets
Dorset 56% catch rate @ 59 targets
Cooks 67% catch rate @ 118 targets
Mitchell 67% catch rate @ 46 targets
Andelman 79% catch rate @ 29 targets

Those of you who hate Dorsett...

Looking at his numbers last season, they were very similar to Hogans.. personally I thought Hogan was pretty darn good last year

As long as he is good enough to replace a WR in case of injury, this is a major plus. Now, I'm terribly worried whether Mitchell is ready to play in the first 3 or 4 games.
